Implementing SAP Engagement Cloud, enterprise edition

Welcome. In this video, we provide an overview of implementing SAP Engagement Cloud,  enterprise edition—covering scoping and the key steps of the implementation journey. Before the implementation begins,  it's important to align on the following topics.  Define Business Areas based on the  organizational structure to separate data  and marketing activities,  roles, and access.  Establish governance for approvals, naming,  data ownership, and change control. Map source and destination systems and data flows  and identify the single source of truth for master data, consents, and product data  to ensure quality and consistency.  Define the consent and target data model in SAP Engagement Cloud,  including required custom fields  to prevent mismatches across channels. Clarify which systems hold  channel-specific permissions. Confirm use cases and journeys  with entry and exit rules and define real-time triggers and required APIs. Specify the data needed  for personalization and segmentation, including the required fields   and the unique identification methods. Prepare content and assets for messaging: templates, HTML, images, fonts, reusable elements, plus localization and brand guidelines. Decide which channels are in scope now  and which will follow. Plan for deliverability and compliance, including DNS records, sending domains, and IP warm-up timelines. Confirm the tenant structure and scale, the number of brands, and the language  and currency needs.  Ensure users are consistently identified across all channels and systems. Once all that is planned out implementation can start. Let's look at the key milestones  of the implementation process. Tenant provisioning and configuration. Email channel activation.  Account Owner and Business Area  creation and assignment.  Data onboarding and integrations. Channel onboarding and campaign sending. The first step is provisioning  and tenant configuration. Customers start in SAP for Me  to provision their environments. After the initial configuration is done, they need to submit the tenant  configuration form via the SAP for Me ticket. The next step is email channel activation. Customers provide expected email volumes and contact details via the activation form  and submit an SAP for Me ticket.  They complete email domain onboarding in their domain host  by adding the required DNS records to enable to enable authenticated sending. After the form is submitted,  SAP support finalizes the backend configuration. While the tenant is being set up,  it is time for the Account Owner and Business Area creation and assignment. SAP Engagement Cloud enterprise edition   is automatically SSO-enabled and connected to SAP Cloud Identity Services,  where user management, permissions,  and Business Area assignments are handled. Account owners manage users, permissions, security settings, and API users. Therefore, they need to have administrator access  to both SAP Engagement Cloud  and SAP Cloud Identity Services. Business Areas are set up  in SAP Engagement Cloud first, then the corresponding authorization policies  are created in SAP Cloud Identity Services. Lastly, users are assigned so that they can work  with Business Area-relevant data  and assets, for example, segments. Moving to data and integrations. There are four core data sets to onboard. Contact data is essential  for personalization and segmentation. Before uploading data via the Contact API, the required fields should be created,  and ongoing synchronization planned. Product data, including key attributes such as the item ID - the unique product identifier - is uploaded via the Product Catalog API.  Web behavior data is collected by Web Extend  JavaScript snippets on the website   to track events, for example, product page views.  Sales data is uploaded via the Sales Data API  and linked to contacts and products. Product references must align with the  catalog to ensure accurate segmentation. Let's look at integrations.  There are several options to connect other systems to SAP Engagement Cloud.  The platform offers a wide range of APIs  for both data onboarding and system integrations.  Beyond APIs, there are additional paths. Engagement Events to configure  and ingest events from external sources.  Universal Schema Builder to connect directly to supported databases for segmentation and personalization. Out-of-the-box connectors to SAP Customer  Data Cloud and Customer Data Platform.  These native connectors can help to sync contact data, consent, and event data. Time for channel onboarding. This is where channels are enabled  and sending and delivery is prepared.  Email and deliverability onboarding.  Once domain authentication is complete and deliverability requirements are in place, IP planning is started along with domain warm-up to build sender reputation. This phase is critical for strong deliverability  and consistent inbox placement. When brand creatives are uploaded,   the first messages are sent and monitored  according to the warm-up plan. As engagement stabilizes,  programs and campaigns are migrated, and volume is increased gradually. Depending on the strategy,  this may require a dedicated IP or a longer, more controlled domain warm-up. Beyond email,   the customer can onboard additional channels. SMS: Connect an approved provider, configure credentials and inbound numbers, prepare opt-ins and send test messages. Mobile Engage: create app in the platform, Install the SAP Engagement Cloud SDK  and verify permissions and push tokens. Conversational Channels: connect a Sinch account, define templates, and prepare opt-ins. Web Channel: install Web Extend and define domains and placements. Web Push: define domains in the platform, install the SAP Engagement Cloud SDK, deploy web scripts and run test activations. Digital Ads: connect ad networks and define audiences. Across all channels,  ensure brand assets are uploaded,  test messages are sent, tracking is validated,  and opt-in and compliance requirements are confirmed before go-live. We hope this overview helps you better understand  the SAP Engagement Cloud  enterprise edition implementation process. Thanks for watching.
