Integrating SAP Commerce Cloud and Composable Storefront with SAP Customer Data Cloud - Part 3

Welcome to this video for Integrating SAP Commerce Cloud and Composable Storefront Part 3 of 3.  In this video, we’re going to demo  the SAP Customer Data Cloud Identity flows  on the SAP Commerce Cloud Composable Storefront.   Let's get started.   Navigate to the SAP Commerce Cloud Composable Storefront site.    On the storefront, navigate to the CDC login page  by appending the “/cdc/login” route  to the current URL.   The CDC Registration and Login screen-set  is loaded from SAP Customer Data Cloud.   Since we don’t have any user accounts  in the account database yet,  we can either log in with social networks,  which will automatically create a user account  in the Customer Data Cloud database  or choose to register a new user account.   Choose “Don't have an account yet?”  to navigate to the Customer Data Cloud registration screen.   Enter the email, first name, last name, and password.   and choose Submit  to register a new user account.   At this point, a new customer profile  should already be created  in the Customer Data Cloud account database,  and a new customer user item  should already be created  in SAP Commerce Cloud.  Let’s check this out in both systems.   Go to the Customer Data Cloud Console  and choose Site Selector under the Sites menu.   And choose the SAP Commerce Cloud integration site.   Now navigate to Profiles  under the Identity Access menu  and you’ll see a new customer profile  was created as a fully registered user.   Click on the new profile.   It takes you to the profile edit screen.  The Registration Source indicates  the profile was registered  from the SAP Commerce Cloud composable storefront.   The Identities field has a site entry,  meaning the profile was created  as a regular CDC profile, not a social or OIDC profiles.   Click on the UID field  to copy and paste it in a text editor.   We’ll check the same in SAP Commerce Cloud.   Go to the SAP Commerce Cloud Backoffice   and choose Customers under the User menu.   Enter the new user email address in the searchbox on the right side and hit enter.   In the search result table,  choose the new user item.   In the editor area, choose the second tab SAP Customer Data Cloud.   You can see the Customer Data Cloud UID,  data center, and API key  returned from the Customer Data Cloud system.   On the composable storefront,  upon successful registration,  the user is automatically logged in the storefront  Navigate to Profile Details  under the My Account drop-down menu.   The Profile Update screen-set will be loaded from Customer Data Cloud and populated with the customer profile data.   At this point, you can update the customer profile fields, such as first name, last name, phone number and country.   Let’s update the first name, zip code  and country fields.   Then choose the Save button.   Now let’s go back to the SAP Commerce Cloud Backoffice  and choose Customers under the User Menu.   You’ll see the customer’s Name field  is updated as we mapped the CDC  firstName field of the profile namespace  to the name attribute of the SAP Commerce Cloud User type.   However, you won’t see the zip code  and country fieds as they’re only defined  in the CDC account schema,  not in SAP Commerce Cloud.   To see the zip code and country values,  go to the Customer Data Cloud console  and navigate to Profiles under the Identity Access menu.   On the account profile page,  scroll down to the Personal Information section.   You’ll see the zip code and country fields  on the Address row.   Back on the Composable Storefront Profile Details page,  choose Change password at the bottom.   The Password Change screen  is part of the ProfileUpdate screen-set  loaded from Customer Data Cloud.   Enter the current password,   new passwords and choose Submit.   The new password is saved in both systems  and it takes you back to the Profile Details screen.   To verify the new password,  choose Sign Out under My Accout.   Navigate to the CDC login page  through the cdc/login route   and on the login screen,  enter the new password to log into the storefront.  And if you cannot login  and want to reset the password,  choose Forgot password on the login screen.   The Forgot Password screen is part of the RegistrationLogin screen-set  loaded from Customer Data Cloud.   Enter your email address and choose Submit.   You’ll receive a password reset email from CDC.   Follow the instructions and link in the email to reset the password.   This concludes our Part 3 demo  of SAP Commerce Cloud and Composable Storefront Integration with SAP Customer Data Cloud.   Thank you for watching.
