Introducing SAP CIAM for B2C in SAP Customer Data Cloud

In this quick guide video, we will introduce SAP Customer Data Cloud's Customer Identity and Access Management for B2C, or CIAM for B2C solution. CIAM for B2C turns online visitors into known, loyal customers by creating a frictionless customer experience at the point of registration while securely identifying online visitors and delivering personalized engagements to build trusted relationships throughout the customer journey. The SAP CIAM for B2C solution addresses three key areas, customer experience, security, and personalization. Let's explore them in more detail. CIAM for B2C's customer experience brings customers a frictionless and personalized point of entry across brands, regions, and digital properties via light registration, registration as a service, social login workflows, and global access. Let's take a closer look at these functionalities. Light registration allows you to onboard customers quickly, allowing them to easily engage with your site. Light registration is a way for users to engage with your site and content without having to register with a full account by using just an email address and no password. This helps you to establish a connection with your customers earlier in their journey to begin building trust-based relationships. Registration as a service contains out-of-the-box scalable responsive forms called screensets for registration, login, and other workflows. It allows you to identify and register customers with minimal input while capturing a wide variety of customer data through customizable registration and social authentication screens and flows. Social login allows users to register and log in to your site using their social network accounts. Social login workflows increase registrations and drive personal engagement while at the same time simplifying the authentication process through over 35 social networks. Global access gives your customers a consistent user experience on your site, logging into local sites of one of our five global data centers as they travel the world. Customers log in with the same credentials. User data is stored in the data center selected during registration, and this way, data residency regulations are upheld without compromising experience. CIAM for B2C Security streamlines authentication and safeguards every interaction touchpoint with authentication methods, site groups and single sign-on, and federated authentication. CIAM for B2C Security implements risk-based, multi-factor, push notifications, biometric, and one-time password authentication. This includes password-less authentication, automated email flows, account harvesting detection, secure digital signatures, and advanced key management. Risk-based authentication protects your customers and your business from identity theft by calculating the level of risk associated with a given login attempt. Then it presents users with authentication challenges according to that risk level, such as capture challenges and authentication codes sent via SMS or email. The Site Group feature facilitates multi-site, multi-brand administration and enables single sign-on functionality that allows a customer to log in to one site and be automatically signed in to every site in the same site group. SAP CIAM for B2C supports Federation standards using SAML and OpenID Connect protocols. Federation allows multiple applications to request user authentication from a single centralized identity source. Users can use a single set of credentials to connect to multiple applications. SAML service providers and our technology partners can act as Open ID providers allowing third-party sites or relying partners to authenticate their users against your existing customer bases. Federation supports mobile SDKs for iOS and Android. CIAM for B2C's personalization allows you to power trusted digital experiences with customer data through single unified records of each customer, building and synchronizing rich customer profiles, and governance and deep customer insight analysis. Transform identity, profile, and account status data captured from online users into unified profiles for each customer. This includes system data, first-party social and federation data, registration data, and any other relevant customer data. Additionally, it stores these profiles in a fully indexed dynamic schema database that can extend when necessary to provide unique experiences. Build rich, centralized customer profiles and make customer data available at scale with customer consent. Map, transfer, or synchronize your entire customer dataset with all your digital properties, including with third-party applications and services using IdentitySync. Our powerful data, extract, transform, and load solution that enables scheduling and data synchronization. Govern customer profiles throughout the customer lifecycle according to each user's status. Use the audit log to view actions performed by users and administrators via the console or by end users to their own accounts, and gain deep customer insights by analyzing customer identity, profile, and account status data
