Introducing Work Center Groups - SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Manufacturing

Hello and welcome to this microlearning for SAP S4 HANA Cloud for Manufacturing, introducing work center groups. My name is Subhashree Sahoo and I am working in the area of manufacturing consulting for SAP S/4HANA Cloud. In this microlearning, we will go through the fundamentals of the work center groups, explaining the concept, master data, key features, and usage of work center groups. What is work center groups? Work center groups basically represent group of work centers in a hierarchical structure with respect to group types. This concept is quite similar to work center hierarchy which you are familiar with. What is a work center group type? The significance of group type is to group work centers based on a particular attribute, such as groups for alternative work centers, or for work centers on the same line, or work centers based on responsibilities. A work center group may contain further groups within it, however, these groups should belong to the same group types maintained for the higher group. Regarding the master data, for creating a work center group, you need to create work centers as a  prerequisite. The work center groups can be created using the app Manage Work Center Groups. Let's have a quick look at the key features. Using the key features, you can create work center groups, assign or remove work centers or work center groups, delete a work center group, view a list of assigned work centers, view immediate parent group details. Please note that you can view, create, update or delete a group that belongs to only those group types and plants for which you are authorized to perform the operations on. Now let's have a look at the usage. As the main usage using work center groups, you can evaluate capacity requirements or overload by using Manage Work Center Capacity app. You can use work center groups as filters to carry out planning for the assigned work centers in the Capacity Scheduling table and the Scheduling Board apps. Let's recap the key learnings. In this microlearning, we learned the fundamentals of work center groups, the features of the Manage Work Center Groups app and the usage of work center groups in various apps.
