Locking and Unlocking Participants from Guided Sourcing Events in SAP Ariba

This video will demonstrate the procedure of locking and unlocking participants in SAP Ariba events in guided sourcing. Suppose a project owner determines that one of the invited participants is not serious about competing. Perhaps the participant is attending your event to learn about competitors' prices, or for another reason. Project owners can lock the participants out of the event, including all the contacts from the participant's organization, completely removing the participant's ability to access any information associated with the event. You can lock and unlock participants any time while the event is open and in a pending selection state. In the Items That Need Quotes panel on the Monitor Event page, select the More icon next to the participant's name located in the Tables columns. Choose Lock Supplier, which prompts a supplier that the supplier will not be able to access bid information for this event, but the project owner will still see supplier bids. Choose Lock and SAP Ariba sends a participant an email and logs this action in the event audit log. The participant is immediately returned to the event list page and can no longer see your event. The supplier can still access their SAP Ariba account but not the event unless unlocked. The participant lock icon displays next to the participant's name in the Items That Need Quotes panel. To unlock a participant, choose the More icon next to their name and select Unlock Supplier. When you unlock participants, their access is restored as if they had never been locked. When locking participants out of an event, keep the following in mind. The locked participants' bids remain in effect. The system counts them in bidding rule calculations. If they're leading bids, they remain leading. Finally, you can award business to a locked participant.
