Navigating the Product Catalog - SAP CPQ

Hello. My name is Amy.  In this video, I’ll show you how to navigate the SAP CPQ Product Catalog.  In this topic, we’ll explore Categories, Search, Favorites, and Compare. Let’s begin with Categories.  Categories and subcategories are used to organize the online catalog. Categories segment the products into a logical order.  For example, you might categorize a computer catalog into the categories, Hardware, Software, Services, and Networking. To navigate through the categories, click the image or the category name to display the contents.  Once the category is opened, you will see all the available sub-categories and the products available within that category.  To navigate to the prior sub-category or category, you can use the breadcrumb links at the top of the central screen.   In the breadcrumbs link, the last item in the trail indicates the category you are currently viewing.   The first link in the trail will always be Home, which is the start of the catalog.  Another way to navigate through the Categories is using the navigation tree. In the navigation tree, you can expand and collapse the different categories.  Now, let’s talk about the Search feature. The search feature allows you to quickly find products in the catalog using the name, part number, or the product description.   When searching by part number, you must enter the entire part number to display the product.  To search for a product by name or description, enter a phrase or a word from the name or description and Enter.  The system will offer suggestions as you type and all the products with that word or phrase will display. Once you have found the product you are looking for, whether by name, part number,  or description search, click the product to configure the quote. Now, let’s see what the Favorites feature can do.  The Favorites feature is a great way to reduce the time it takes you to search for products and create quotes.  It allows you to assemble a list of products and configurations that you most often use.  Clicking the star icon beside a product will add it to the Favorites list. To access a list of your Favorites, click on the Favorites star at the top of the Categories panel. Another useful feature is Compare.  You can compare multiple products in the catalog by checking the Compare box. Once you have selected the products you would like to compare, click the Compare button that displays at the top of the catalog. This will bring up the product comparison window where you are able view details for selected products. To go back, simply click Back to Catalog. To clear the items marked for comparison, click Clear All.  This will bring up the product comparison window where you are able to view details for selected products.  To go back, simply click Back to Catalog.
