Navigating the SAP Customer Data Platform  Console

In this video, we'll take a tour to get familiar with the functionality and layout of the Customer Data Platform Console. After logging into the SAP Customer Data Platform Console, you'll land in the dashboard view. It displays several analytics for your business unit. This includes insights such as, customers' distribution of known versus anonymous customers, customer data events for data ingestion from external systems, and the number of triggered activations for downstreaming data to target external systems. Additionally, you'll see the top activities information, graphics related to processing purpose enforcement across the customer data stored in the platform, the number of customers who have contact information, and their communication channels. On the left-hand side, you'll find a menu with features that you can configure using the console. Under dashboard, you'll find the analytics menu containing information such as total customers customer distribution by country average total spend distribution by age distribution by gender and distribution by total spend you can drill down on each item by the segments your customers belong to in the customers menu group the search function allows you to locate customers in the unified customer profile database. Then, you can check actual customer data information currently stored in the customer data platform. In Segments, you can define attribute-based criteria to segment your customer data using common characteristics and activity data. In Indicators, you can create calculated attributes based on customer data to help measure performance based on customer activities. In Explorations, you can use groups, profiles, activities, indicators, segments, relationships between entities, and purposes to see the number of potential groups or customers you can export. In the Activate menu group, you'll find CX Journeys. This feature allows you to engage your customers individually according to milestones that represent different stages in their relationship with your brand or product. You can group CX flows as part of your journey's milestones to deliver real -time personalized experiences during crucial moments in the customer's lifecycle. CX flows can be designed using a visual tool and will be triggered for each customer according to predefined criteria. In audience activations, you can define groups of customers. Marketers can use groups in marketing campaigns by setting conditions based on profile information, segments, and indicators. Once an audience is built, it can be downstream to external systems by using a destination application action. You can view the audience's dashboard to see the performance and numbers of your audience actions and check the status of previous audience activations. In direct data access, you can expose relational data views of profiles, groups, relationships, activities, segments, and indicators based on your processing purposes. These relational data views can be accessed from compatible target applications. This enables compatible solutions to leverage CDP data for personalization, segmentation, and analytics scenarios. In the Data Access menu group, you can export all relevant data that CDP has collected in the proper format to the external system for custom analytic purposes. In the connect menu group, you can configure source and destination applications to set up the external systems from which you want to consume customer data and those to which stored customer data should be pushed. In customer schemas, you can check and customize the unified customer profile structure definition and define your activities, groups, and relationship schemas. Here you can create new attributes, change validation rules and normalization settings, as well as merge rules covering the update of an existing customer profile. When incoming customer data is ingested into the customer data platform, matching rules uses profile attributes to decide whether the incoming data will merge with existing customer profiles or be used to create new ones. In Processing Purposes, you define how the system will allow businesses to ensure compliance with regulations, restrictions, and policies applicable to customer data usage. This configuration defines the deciding factor in whether the data is allowed to be stored in the system upon ingestion and which data may be sent out to destination applications. Finally, the new monitoring feature allows you to visualize metrics and check the health of the customer data ingestion system, including connectivity to external sources and details around past event executions, which can be useful for troubleshooting issues.
