Onboarding Users for Reports in SAP Incentive Management

Hello and welcome. In this video, you'll learn how to onboard users, which allows them to receive static reports in SAP Incentive Management. Static reports allow you to easily manage and publish key performance information to any size Salesforce. Reports can be published at any time in conjunction with the regular calculation or at a different time. Static reports are based on SAP Crystal Reports. Crystal Reports creates richly formatted, pixel -perfect, and multi-page reports from virtually any data source delivered in over a dozen formats. In order for Incentive Management payees to access these reports, each user must be assigned to a BO group. This can't be done in the Incentive Management user interface. Instead, we will use the following steps. Create a generic attribute on the participant workspace that includes the term BO group. group. For each participant that is being onboarded, populate this field with the name of the B.O. group to which they will be added. Create a B.O. trig file. Finally, upload the B.O. trig file using Express Data Loader. Let's start by creating a generic attribute on the participant's workspace. Starting on the home page, I'll open the customizations workspace. I'll expand the organization group and select participants. Scrolling down to the list of generic attributes, I'll activate the first available generic attribute. Then I'll move to the custom value field and enter BO group. Then I'll save the change. Now we can add the name of the BO group for each participant. I'll select this participant. Opening the record in edit mode, I'll populate the new field with the name of the group. Then I'll save the record. It's worth noting that this field can be populated using any data integration method. Now, let's look at how to update the BO group. This is done by creating an empty trigger file that reads each participant's BO group and updates their group assignment. The trigger file is called botrig. We will activate the file using Express Data Loader or XDL. The botrig file is an empty text file. The file name is also important. This file needs to be named BOTRIG underscore YY, where YYY is the environment type and can be PRD, DEV, UAT or TST. I'll call mine BOTRIG underscore DEV dot TXT. Now, let's open Express Data Loader. From the Incentive Management Portal, I'll select Express Data Loader. Before we upload the file, let's look at the file type, Setup. I'll select the Edit icon next to BOTRIG. I'll change the character set to UTF-8 so it matches the character set to which I saved the text file. Because this is an empty file, the delimiter can be set to anything, and the header should be disabled as the file has no header. Now it's time to upload the file. Going to the Jobs page, I'll select Upload File. I'll navigate to the BO Trig file I created and select Open. The job will start automatically. Once the job completes, the user will be added to the BO group.
