Overview of Adaptive Search Perspective - SAP Commerce Cloud

An important part of the online purchasing journey is not only to facilitate the search for products  but also to make product suggestions based on individual search profiles.  But how exactly does this work?  The Adaptive Search Module included in the SAP Commerce Suite offers an innovative approach to create, configure and activate specific search profiles.  This means you can create personalized search profiles with specific configurations for your search categories and merge them.  These configurations also include facets and boost functionalities that help you improve the conversion rate.  Out-of-the-box you'll find the following features:  The navigation context area, which indicates the current context you are working in in the Adaptive Search perspective:  index configuration, index type, catalog version, and search profile.  The categories navigation allows you to configure search settings.  Depending on the search profile you're working with, Simple search profile or category aware profile,  you'll be able to define a configuration at the global level or for each category.  The search profile context refers to the hierarchical structure of the categories you navigate through.  This specific order creates a specific search context.  At the top of the adaptive search perspective you can see two paths:  Search profile context which lists all the categories to be merged. Search in category which shows the path of the category you're currently browsing.  The search bar is used to easily browse through the results for a particular category.  The results list shows items included in a selected category.  At the top of the list you will find the promoted items.  The configuration area allows you to define settings for facets, boosts and sorts.  In this area you will find:  Facets: to create, promote and exclude facets,  Boosts: to create boost rules,  and Sorts: to promote and exclude items. All these options also allow you to apply a chosen merging option for the category. That's it for the video.  Thank you for watching!
