Requesting Preferred Category Statuses in SAP Ariba Supplier Management

In this video, you'll watch a supplier manager request new and updated preferred category statuses for suppliers. In this scenario, I'll request a new preferred category status for a supplier. To request a new status, I'll choose the add icon in the Preferred area of the supplier profile. Next, I'll fill out the category status request form. When selecting categories, regions, and business units, my choices are limited to the values for which the supplier is already qualified. In this request, I'm asking the supplier to become preferred for computer equipment and accessories in Canada for all business units. I'll select the desired preferred status level, which in this case is 1 - Gold. I have no comments to add, so I'll submit the form. My request has been submitted and is pending approval. In this scenario, I'll request an update to a supplier's existing preferred category status. I'll start by locating the status in the Preferred area of the supplier profile and then editing it. When editing a preferred category status, I can change the status level but not the categories, regions, or business units. I'll change the status to 2 - Silver. I'll add an optional comment and then submit the form. My update has been submitted and is pending approval. You’ve now learned how to request new and updated preferred category statuses for suppliers. Thanks for watching.
