SAP Artificial Intelligence Onboarding : AI Entitlements

Welcome to the SAP HANA Academy. My name is Bob and in this video series we'll be looking at SAP Artificial Intelligence. In this video series we'll be looking at onboarding. And in this video we'll be looking at adding the required artificial intelligence services as well as entitlements. In the previous video we looked at setting up your sub-accounts within SAP BTP. And in this video we'll be covering the onboarding process specifically for the SAP AI Core and the SAP AI Launchpad services. Now as covered in the BTP onboarding series, you'll also need a BTP sub account in a center that provides the services that you're interested in. How do we know? Well, we can go to the SEP Discovery Center at the following URL. We've set up our sub account in US East, but again, it's very important to know the providers and the regions which we can access the services we need. And for us, it's two specific services to do with artificial intelligence. Within the Discovery Center you've got various sections which will increase your knowledge of the various services that are available within BTP. Now we want to go to our service catalog and this is where you'll see all the services available. We'll search for AI Core and here we're interested in two specific services. The SAP AI Launchpad where you can manage your AI services and of course our SAP AI Core which is our main service. Now if you want you can filter on specific things like regions, providers, license models or other various categories. We don't need to, we can just go to the list view of these services and look at all the details of these services. So if we look at AI Core, we can see the regions that it's available to us. And again for us we're using US East. You'll also see other attributes as the service plan, the license model, and of course the provider. And again, if we go down to our SAPA Launchpad, we'll see the regions that it's available in as well. And again, we're using US East. You'll also see for the AI Launchpad, we've got a couple of different licensing models, both in AWS. One is pay as you go and there's another one called CPEA which we've looked at in the BTP onboarding videos. To get more information of course you can select the individual service. So let's look at our main service which is SAP AI Core. And what we'll firstly see is an overview of this service. So as it says the SAP AI Core is a service in BTP which is designed to handle the execution and operations of your AI assets. You'll also see that we've got an architectural diagram which of course I've covered in the first video. And if you scroll down in this overview you'll also see a summary of resources and also various tutorials and a community in which you can get further information about this specific service. As well as the overview tab, of course, you've got information on pricing and also the roadmap, where this product is going to go in the future. Now, if I go back, we've got the same information for our Launchpad. If I select it, we can see in the overview that the Launchpad is a multi-tenant software as a service application within BTP. As you can imagine, you can use the SAP AI Launchpad to manage all your AI use cases. And essentially what we do is we create a connection to one of our AI core services, but of course you could have a connection to multiple of those services as well. Again you've got access to the various resources and of course pricing. Now it's important to note that for AI Core and AI Launchpad, these aren't part of the three tier within SAP Business Technology Platform at the moment as of May 2022. Also depending if you're a customer or a partner, well if you're a customer you'll need to speak to your account manager if you want more information on pricing and licensing, and of course if you're a partner then you'll need to go to Partner Edge. So as we know we'll need SAP AI Core and SAP AI Launchpad. So we need to set up this in our BTP cockpit. Now the assumption here is you've got access to these services. So of course if you don't you'll need to speak to your account manager to get access. Once you've got access then within the BTP cockpit you'll need to sort out your entitlements. So here we select entity assignments just like before when we did this for Business Application Studio. Select the sub-account you want this to apply to. We can do this by selecting the actual sub-account. Here we can see we've got our 30 entitlements. If you want to see the entitlements that we've currently got, all we need to do is select 30 entitlements, or we can select that third tab, which is entitlements. And here we can see which services and service plans we've got access to. Again, this is for SAP Business Application Studio. So on the left hand side we need to access our entitlements and we can see them if we scroll down and select entitlements. Again like in the previous video we need to click on configure entitlements and we'll need to add our service plans. So for us, what we'll do is we'll do a search for AI, so we can add AI Core, and here we can see we've got one available plan, so we can select that as well as the SAP AI Launchpad, and again add that standard plan. So here we're adding two of those plans to our entitlements. Here you can see the sub-count assignment as well as the remaining global quota. You might have an allocation of various services. So if I scroll down and we look at SAP AI Core, we can see we've got three shared services remaining, which is the global quota based on this account. Once we've done this, the next step is of course to save. So before I go to my instances, we'll need to save those entitlements. And then if we go to our instances we'll need to create our instances. So of course again on the top right hand side we'll need to select create. Then in the drop down we'll need to select our specific service so we'll start off by creating one AI core. Of course, you can have many of these core services depending on your quota. So we'll leave the planner standard, it'll be in Cloud Foundry, it'll run in the dev space. The only thing we really need to have here or add is an instance name. So I'll include dev underscore cf for Cloud Foundry underscore ai just for the name of the service. Again you can have multiple ai calls if you want and again that depends on your global quota. Here we can see that instance and the creation is in progress in the specific space that we've created in the previous video. Again, we're going to have to do the same thing for our AI Launchpad. So we only really need to have one AI Launchpad. So I'll select it. We've got the plan. So we'll select Create, which will of course create a subscription to the SAP AI Launchpad. And we can see here that we've subscribed to the application like so. The same as the Business Application Studio as well. We've got our instance which is currently being created and of course we've got our Cloud Foundry environment. Those are those three tabs. Now we don't really want to select the Launchpad yet because we've not allocated the correct roles for this user to be able to use the Launchpad. But just one thing to note is that you can access online help for some of the services that you see here. So how do we do that? Well, on the right hand side you'll see that there's an arrow. And if I select the arrow, here we've got various information and the roles that you have for this specific service. For us it's the AI Launchpad and at the bottom you have the documentation. Now for the video series I'll be using a lot of this documentation but I won't necessarily be showing it on the screen, I'll actually just be performing the steps in the video creation. But everything will come from this document which is for AI Launchpad within help.sap.com as well as SAP AI Core. Now to set up security, well we're going to cover that in the next video where we'll also be looking at connecting the AI Launchpad to your singular AI Core service.
