SAP Artificial Intelligence Onboarding : AI Roles & AI Launchpad Workspaces

Welcome to the SAP HANA Academy. My name is Bob and in this video series we'll be looking at SAP Artificial Intelligence. In this video series we'll be looking at onboarding, and in this video we'll be looking at the roles needed in order to use your AI services, and we'll also look at how to link your AI Launchpad to your AI Core service. The next step of our onboarding process for artificial intelligence is to add the necessary roles to our users to access these applications. We've already done this for the Business Application Studio, we need to do this for SAP AI Launchpad. So within security I'll go to my users. Like a few videos ago, we need to go to our role collections. These are the ones we've got for Business Application Studio and I'll assign some role collections. So we need to add the following. So we need to add the admin editor for AI Launchpad. We don't need the viewer because that viewer has those rights. We'll be creating something called resource groups later on in the video, which I'll show you in the video series. We'll be creating connections, so we need to add the connections editor. You've got these two Functions Explorer roles, but we need to add version 2 because the first one is depreciated. You see there's two other roles for the Explorer Viewer. There's a version 1 and a version 2. Again, we don't need that because the Editor version 2 role will have the version 2 Viewer role as well. The only other thing we need to add is the Machine Learning Operations Editor. Again, that gives the viewer rights and we don't need to add anything else. So I'll select Assign Role Collection. And then after a few seconds you should see the various roles have been added to your user. Now if we go back to our instances and subscriptions, you should be able to open the SAP AI Launchpad by clicking on this link, and this will create the Launchpad in a new tab. Now what you'll see is it says you don't have any connections because we need to link our AI Launchpad to our AI Core service. So how do we do that? In fact, we select add and we essentially need to supply the following parameters. So where do we get these parameters from? Well, if we go back to our BTP cockpit and we go to our instances and subscriptions, this is our SAP AI Core service. What we'll need to do is create what's called a service key. And this is used to access that service. We'll give the service key a name. It just needs to have no spaces in it. And then we'll select Create. So you'll see now that we've got three tabs. Today I'm going to talk about how to create a service key for SAP AI Launchpad. We can see that the service key has been created and we can view or download the service key. Now what I can do is I can click on view and these are the parameters that will be supplied to the SAP AI Launchpad. So we'll start with the client ID and we'll place paste it here. We'll do the same for the client secret. We'll then go ahead and add the API URL and this handles machine learning artifacts like your training models, your data and all your deployments. And in terms of SAP Authorization and Trust Management, we'll need to provide a link for XSUAA as well. Lastly we'll just need to provide a name for this connection and again I'm going to put in SHA-AI because this is connecting to that core service. So when you've done that all you need to do is click on create. If there's any issues with any of the parameters you've filled in, you won't be able to create this connection, so it means that all is good. Now, when we've created that connection, it's called a workspace. Of course, you can connect to multiple of these AI core services. We've only connected to one, but you might have test development production, for example. And within each service, you've got something called resource groups, which are used to manage your objects when you're performing your machine learning. Now, at a high level these represent collections of related resources within the scope of one SAP AI Core tenant. These SAP AI Core tenants will use these resource groups to isolate related machine learning resources and what are called workloads. Now, because we've just on-boarded a tenant which is SHA AI Core, a default resource group is created. But we're going to again create these resource groups later on in this video series. Now, in terms of the left-hand side, you can see we've got our workspaces, so if I select it, we'll see a list of our AI API connections. And below that you'll see two other sections, SAP AI Core Administration, as well as Machine Learning Operations. Again, depending on the resource group that you select on the right hand side, that will determine which objects you see within machine learning operations, so you can divide your content within resource groups. However, there are some objects which are shared across all resource groups. You'll see later on that scenarios and executables, as well as some other objects, are shared. And that's what we're going to cover in the next few videos. So we're going to cover how to set up a Git repository, how to create an application within your Git repository. Of course, to do this, we'll need a GitHub account and also how to create a Docker registry secret. And again, to do this, we'll need a Docker account as well, which I'll show you how to set up. Now, in order to create these objects, we're going to be also using the SAP AI SDK. And to execute commands via the SDK, we're going to be using Jupyter notebooks and Python. So I'll show you how to set up Jupyter and your Python notebooks in the next video.
