SAP Artificial Intelligence Onboarding : BTP Subaccount Creation

Welcome to the SAP HANA Academy! My name's Bob and in this video series we'll be looking at SAP Artificial Intelligence. In this video series, we'll be looking at onboarding, and in this first video we'll be looking at setting up your Business Technology Platform accounts. In terms of onboarding your SAP Business Technology Platform accounts, there's a series of videos within the SAP HANA Academy within our SAP Business Technology Platform onboarding series you should watch. Those videos are the first, second, third and fourth video as well as the seventh video. The assumption in this video, although it'll recap all of those videos, is that you've seen those five videos. Another assumption in this video is that you've already got a global account, and you've also got access to your SAP Business Technology Platform cockpit. In the previous few videos, we'll have looked in depth at all the options within your SAP BTP cockpit when you're onboarding. But in this video, I'm going to focus only on the specific parts you need for this video series to do with artificial intelligence. Of course, if you've already set up your sub account as per the previous four or five videos, you can skip this video. So, obviously firstly we need to create ourselves a sub account, and I'll call mine SHAAI. I'll also change the sub-domain name, and again I'll just call that the same thing in lowercase. In terms of the region, I'm going to choose the region nearest to me, where I'm going to do all the setup, and that's in US East. And also this region and provider will have the specific services I need for this video series. And for our purposes, in terms of the advanced options, we don't need to turn anything on and we don't need to create any labels. So when we've done this we can select create. And it should only take a few seconds to onboard that sub-account. If we go into the sub-account, you'll see that we've by default got 28 entitlements and zero instances and subscriptions. In terms of the entitlement, of course this depends on your setup, so that number may differ. To modify our entitlements of course we select configure and what we'll need to do is add a service plan. The first thing we'll need to do is add Cloud Foundry so I'll do a search for Cloud Foundry and then we'll add that Cloud Foundry runtime. We'll select the memory as the available plan, and we could add that one service plan. We'll add the others in a bit, so firstly we'll need to save, and then we'll just need to enable Cloud Foundry. So we do this by going back to overview and you can click on the tab cloud foundry environment or of course you can scroll down and here we just need to select enable cloud foundry. For us, we've only got one plan, which is the standard plan. So the only thing I'm going to change here are the instance names and organization names. I'll call the instance names SHA-AI underscore CF. And for the org name, what we'll do is we'll change that and we'll call it SHA-AI. And then I'll click on create. Now if you're just strictly setting up SAP Artificial Intelligence, you don't need to set up Cloud Foundry here. We're setting up Cloud Foundry because we're going to be doing some development later on in the video series. Therefore, as well as Cloud Foundry, we'll need to set up Business Application Studio. So we'll of course have to configure the entitlement for that. So again I'll select Configure Entitlement. I'll add a service plan and I'll just do a search for the word Business. And we'll add the SAP Business Application Studio. We'll select the standard edition and we'll click on add one service plan and of course we'll save. The next step is to allocate roles to the users to be able to use the services or applications. So within security users, I've only got one user in my sample. On the right-hand side, if I click on the arrow and scroll down, we have a list of role collections. So this is what we're going to have to modify. Now before we do, we need to enable that Business Application Studio. So how do we do that? Well, we go to our services and if we click on our instances and subscriptions this is where we can create a subscription to the Business Application Studio. So you'll see that there are three tabs, subscriptions, instances and environments. Our one environment is for Cloud Foundry, but you can see we've got no instances or subscriptions. So to create our subscription, all we need to do is click on Create. We'll select the specific service, which for us is that Business Application Studio. It's standard edition and we'll select Create. So here you can see that it's processing that subscription to the BusinessApplication Studio application and after a few seconds, you will see that we've subscribed to that application. So now that we've subscribed, what we'll need to do then is allocate the rights for us to be able to use the application. So again within users, if I go on the right hand side and scroll down, we can modify our role collections. The only two that we need to add are the Business Application Studio Administrator and the Developer. They're the only two that we need. So I'll click on Assign role collection and on the right hand side we'll see that we've added those two role collections as you can see here. Again we'll be using that Business Application Studio later on in the video series to create some applications. So if I go back to the overview, you'll see that we've got our two additional entitlements, as well our one instance and our subscription. Lastly, there's only really one thing left to do, and that's to create a development space. Again, if you're only setting up SAP Artificial Intelligence, you don't necessarily need this development space, but we'll be building some applications later on using that business application studio. So that's why we need to create this space. So we can do that below within Create Space. You can see that we've got no spaces at the moment defined in this sub-account. So I'll call my space Dev. We can leave these space roles as they are here. And then all I need to do is click on Create. Again, this was just a summary of the previous four or five videos. And you'll need to be at this step enabled to perform the next few steps of enabling your AI services and we'll cover that in the next video.
