Setting up a Communication Scenario for Handling Unit Management - SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain

Hello everybody, and welcome to microlearning. My name is Markus Oertelt, I'm an SAP  S/4HANA Cloud senior solution advisor, and I work in the area of product success and  customer co-innovation at SAP. During this microlearning, we will cover how to  set up handling unit integration for warehouse outbound  processing. This is interesting for you, as you learn in a few  minutes the skills you need to tackle the implementation  on your own If you are an SAP S/4HANA Cloud application  consultant or process consultant, or a technical-minded  project program manager, this microlearning is especially for you. The microlearning consists of a short overview of how the communication scenario works, and then I will demonstrate in the system how you can set up a new user, create a new  communication system, and, last but not least, create a communication  arrangement. How does this scenario work? This scenario works by enabling you to retrieve  handling units. As a key in warehouse management, you use  the warehouse number and also the handling unit number. You see this nicely in the slide. You, as a customer or partner, own the  S/4HANA tenant and the external system. Now you use the communication scenario  SAP_COM_0364 to read and update your handling unit  information. This service is based on the OData protocol. One important prerequisite is business catalog  SAP_CORE_BC_COM. For further information, please refer to the SAP  API Business Hub. Be sure to go to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, search for the respective service, and here you see all the further information  about handling units. Let's start the demonstration in the system. So, the first thing you want to do in the system is you want to create a communication user. I'm going to use the app search function and  type in communication. And then I see here there's an app Maintain  Communication Users, which I want to use to create a new, by clicking on New, communication user. So, my username is COM0364, like the communication scenario, and then I say SID100. As a description, I say something meaningful,  like MICROLEARNING_INTEGRATION_HU, for example. And now, with the user I have two choices. I can just use a basic setup with the user and  password for the communication, I can let the system  propose me a password, or I could also upload a certificate if I want to  have a little bit more advanced single sign-on  scenario, for example, or other scenarios where I want to use a certificate for authentication, and this is where I would upload the certificate  for this user. So, this scenario is fine, I'm just going to say  Create, and the system created for me a communication  user. The second step is we want to set up a  communication system, so I'm going to type in communication systems. And here I see the app, Communication  Systems, I'm going to click on it. Here as well, I want to click on New, because I want to set up a new one, and here the system asks me for system ID,  and I'm just going to say it's COM_0364 because I want to keep the naming consistent, and hit the button Create. Now, here in the general tab, here for the technical data I want to put in my host name of my system, and then I also want to give some more  information about the business system and also call this COM_0364. The second thing I need to set up in the  communication systems is, I want to have a users for inbound  communication, and I want to use the user we just created in the  first step. So, here I'm going to look for my newly created  user by typing in 0364, and here's our user we just  created. And click on OK. This is how fast I finished the communication  system and I can just save it. In the last step, I want to set up a  communication arrangement. So, I'm going to look for communication apps  again and here I see the app Communication  Arrangements. And here I see all the communication  arrangements available with S/4HANA Cloud. Also here I want to create a new one. In here, I look for our scenario, 0364, and I see our Handling Unit Integration scenario  is already preconfigured by the system and ready to  create. So I'm going to click the button Create And now the arrangement is also asking me for  my communication system, and I just want to use the communication  system we created in the second step and here I say okay, it's my COM_0364 and I see here in the inbound services that my  service handling unit, Read, with the OData protocol, is already included in my arrangement. Then I click Save, and my communication  arrangement has been created. This is how fast you create a user, the system,  and also communication arrangement in S/4HANA Cloud. Before ending this microlearning, let's recap  what we have covered. Communication setups. Communication user, communication system,  and also
