Setting up Code List Replication from SAP S/4HANA to SAP Sales/Service Cloud Version 2

In this video, we'll configure all involved systems for code list integration with the example of payment terms. Please note that this video requires the basic communication setup between the systems as a prerequisite. This setup includes the Cloud Connector, the S/4HANA communication user, the Cloud CRM's communication system and communication configuration for master data integration, in particular, the inbound service "Replicate Cash Discount Terms". In Cloud Integration, the credentials for the communication users with the communication to the cloud CRM in this demo using client certificates. Let's begin with SAP S/4HANA where we publish an OData service. Run the display transaction to open the SAP Gateway Service administration. The code lists are being published with their own service group. Choose Publish Service Groups. For the System Alias filter, select Local. For the service group ID, enter CDI_CDS. Then run the search. This is the entry we're looking for. You can double-click it to expand the included services. Then, publish the service group. You can confirm the dialogues. Then, navigate back. Back in the overview screen, you can see the newly published service group. You can also double-click the entry here to see the code lists that are contained. That's it for SAP S/4HANA. Now, let's continue with SAP Sales and Service Cloud version 2. Here, we have to create a new technical user and role. Open the settings and locate the User Roles setting. Change the filter to Technical Roles. Then create a new technical role. Enter a reasonable name, for instance, S4 Codelist Integration. Finally, we have to add the business services to which the codelists belong. The payment terms belong to the business partner service. You can look up the required service in the integration flow. We'll see this later. That's all we need for this demo. In your environment, add all services of the codelists you need. Since this user role is only necessary for reading codelists, you could restrict the access to read-only. Save and activate the role. Now we can create the actual user. Open the user's setting and change the filter here as well to technical users. Create a new user and enter a reasonable name. In the demo, we use a combination of the S/4 system ID, followed by API code lists. Enter the same name as display name. For this user, we'll use basic authentication and assign a strong password. Remember to use client certificates in productive environments. Finally, assign the previously created role and create the user. That's it for SAP Sales and Service Cloud version 2. Let's continue in cloud integration. Here, we must create a user credential for the previously created user. Then we'll configure and deploy the codelist integration flow. Navigate to Monitor, Integration, and APIs, and go to Security Material. Create a new user credential and enter a reasonable name. Copy the name. It must be entered later into the Integration Flow configuration. Enter the username and password that you have assigned previously and deploy the credential. Now we can configure the Integration Flow. Navigate to Design, Integrations, and APIs. Select the package and navigate to Artifacts. Locate the Payment Terms Integration Flow. As you can see, the Integration Flow refers to the alternative name, Cash Discount Terms. Open the Integration Flow to briefly examine its architecture and understand what we will configure. The integration flow first fetches the existing codes from SAP Sales and Service Cloud version 2 using the technical user we've just created. Then it fetches the codes from SAP S/4HANA using the published OData service, and at the end, it sends the required code list updates to the Cloud CRM using the replication user. Alright, let's configure the integration flow. The timer is scheduled to run on deployment, which is fine for now. Activate the Receiver tab. Here, we can see the two receivers, S4 and CNS. Let's begin with the pre-selected S4. First, change the proxy type to On-Premise. That facilitates the cloud connector. Adapt the content of the field Protocol Host Port accordingly. Ensure the protocol is plain HTTP and enter the host and port as defined in the cloud connector setup. Then, change the authentication to BASIC and enter the credential name for the technical user of SAP S/4HANA. Let's continue with the CNS receiver. As you can see, this receiver has two adapters. The one we're currently looking at reads the codes from SAP Sales and Service Cloud version 2 and targets the business partner service. This is where you can see which business service the technical role needs. Enter the host name of your SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2 system. Lastly, enter the credentials name that we created earlier in this video. Then, switch to the other adapter. This one is used for updates and goes through the inbound data connector service. The host name has been applied from the previous adapter. For this connection, the Cloud Integrations Client Certificate will be used. Finally, activate the More tab. Enter the client of your SAP S/4HANA system. In the demo environment, it's 400. Initial load must be set to True in order to remove obsolete codes from SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2. In the Language field, you can enter two-digit codes for all relevant languages in a comma-separated manner. In this demo, we'll use English and German. In the last step, we have to provide the receiver and sender system IDs, since the update is sent via a replication message, and this requires these pieces of information. Then we can save the configuration. The two warnings can be ignored. Finally, deploy the integration flow using the Cloud Integration Runtime profile. We can activate the Deployment Status tab to see information about the deployment. Navigate to Manage Integration Content. Here, we can see that the integration flow has started. Navigate to Monitor Message Processing. When timer-based integration flows are being deployed, we will usually see a discarded message, followed by the actual run, which was successful. That means the code list was successfully replicated. In SAP Sales and Service Cloud version 2, we can now navigate to the settings and open the payment terms, which are part of customers, to see the result. On the left, we can see the updated list, while the original list is shown on the right. That concludes the configuration of code list integration with the example of payment terms.
