Setting up Credentials for Cloud Integration in SAP Sales/Service Cloud Version 2 with SAP S/4HANA

In this video, we'll set up credentials for cloud integration required to accept and establish connections from and to other systems. While connections with SAP S/4HANA will use basic authentication, connections with SAP Sales and Service Cloud version 2 will use certificates. Let's begin with inbound connections, which require service keys managed in the SAP BTP cockpit. Access your subaccount and navigate to Services, Instances, and Subscriptions. Select the SAP Process Integration Runtime instance. First, we'll create a service key for basic authentication from SAP S/4HANA. Choose Create in the Service Key section. Enter a name for the service key that helps you identify it. For instance, S4_Basic. Ensure that the key type is set to Client ID Secret. Choose Create and wait until the creation is complete. Once finished, select the created service key to view the credential details. Here, you can see the username and password that you can use for basic authentication towards cloud integration. Close the dialog. Next, we'll create a certificate service key for connections from the cloud CRM. Choose create once more. Enter a reasonable name. This time, change the key type to certificate. Confirm the dialog and wait for the creation to complete. Once finished, open the service key and view its details. Here you can see entries like certificate and key. You can also switch to the form view to get a better overview. With the content of the certificate and key fields and an external tool, you can generate a client certificate file that can be used for connections from SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2 to Cloud Integration. You can find more details on this in the linked blog. This concludes the setup of credentials for inbound connections. Now, let's have a look at outbound connections. These are managed in cloud integration. We'll begin with connections to SAP S/4HANA. Log in to cloud integration. From the left-hand menu, choose Monitor, Integrations and APIs. In the Manage Security section, choose Security Material. Create a new pair of user credentials and give them a reasonable name. You must enter this name later when configuring integration flows to reference the user credential. Make sure the type drop -down shows User Credentials. and enter the username and password of your SAP S/4HANA technical user. Finally, choose Deploy. Client certificates shall be used for the connection to SAP Sales and Service Cloud version 2. Hence, we need to download the public key certificate from cloud integration and upload it later in the cloud CRM. Navigate back to the Monitor area, Integrations and APIs. This time, choose the Key Store tile in the Manage Security section. Search for the key pair sap_cloud_integration_certificate and download it via the Actions menu. This certificate doesn't contain a secret. Hence, it doesn't need to be encrypted. Save it somewhere on your machine. This concludes the preparation of outbound credentials in cloud integration.
