Setting Up Pre-grading in Guided Sourcing Events in SAP Ariba

Use this procedure to configure automatic grading, or pregrading, to automatically grade supplier responses to questions and line item terms in an event. When you are creating or editing an event, navigate to the Items that need Quotes or Questions, Requirements and Attachments panel and Add Items or Questions. After you have added content to your event, a Set Weight button is visible at the top of the panel. Choose Set Weight and the Set Grading Weight page appears. Set appropriate weights to the items and terms. Choose the Auto Grade toggle to view the auto grade options and then you can configure options based on the response type. Questions that have values that a supplier chooses from a list of options are quantifiable and can be set to pre-grade. You will want to assign a weight to the question and its section, then determine what your target grade will be. A target grade will determine if the response fell short of your target grade by being lower, or it could exceed your expectations and go above the target grade amount for bonus points. Responses that match the ideal value receive a 100% grade. Grades for other responses in the range are scaled accordingly. Traditionally, yes no question types are all or nothing, so targets are usually set to 100 and set the same for the desired answer. For responses that accept values manually entered by the participant, the options can be lower the value, the better, the higher the value, the better, or pre-grade. For the from, to, and ideal fields, you can either enter a fixed value or choose minimum or maximum. For items like price in an upward bidding event, the lower the value the better is more suitable. For items like warranty period, the higher the value, the better is more suitable. When you are finished setting the pre-grade values, choose Save, finish configuring the event and publish. Pre-graded event content is automatically evaluated by the system and is not available for the team graders that are manually entering their scores. Event owners can check the overall weight column to ensure that their question stacks up to the appropriate worth within the sum of the event.
