SSL Certificates in the Cloud Portal - SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, my name is Clemens Thielmann. In this video, I’m going to show you how to add and delete an SSL Certificate in the SAP Commerce Cloud Portal. You’ll also learn how to apply the configuration to a specific endpoint in your SAP Commerce environment. An SSL certificate is used to secure a website, as well as to protect it from cyber criminals. What’s more, the SSL certificate serves to encrypt sensitive information sent across the Internet, ensuring that only the intended recipient can access it and nobody can intercept it. Let’s start by logging into Commerce Cloud Portal. You can use either the Customer System Administrator or the Customer Developer role. First, select the “Security” tab in the navigation bar. This will display a Security page and the various security options available for configuration. If you want to learn more about these options, check out our other video on How to Manage Security Options in the Cloud Portal. Since we want to add an SSL Certificate, select the "SSL Certificates" button at the top of the page. This page lists all the certificates currently available for your subscription, including the connected endpoints, expiry date, domains and other details. To add a new certificate, click the “Create” button in the top righthand corner. Now, give your certificate a name and a description. Then, paste the content of the certification body file into the Certificate File area. Next, repeat the same process, pasting the content of the certification key file into the Key File box. Defining a Certificate Chain file is optional. To confirm the changes, scroll to the top of the page and click “Save”. The certificate has now been saved. Please remember that once created, you are not able to view or edit the file. If you want to make any changes to the configuration, you need to delete it and create it again from scratch. To delete the certificate from your subscription, click on the “trash” icon next to the file and confirm by selecting the “Delete” option. For now, let’s keep this certificate, as we are going to connect it to our endpoint. In order to do that, we go to the Environments View page. And select the environment for which we wish to add the SSL Certificate. Then choose an endpoint by clicking on it. From here, navigate to the “Basic Configuration” section. Under the “SSL Certificate” header click on the dropdown list and search for the file added previously. Select it and save the changes by clicking on the “Save” button at the top of the page. Your endpoint is now secured! If you want to, you can always replace the certificate file with the other one. To do so, repeat the steps to add a certificate to your subscription and select a new file in the Endpoint Edit page. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for watching!
