Taking a Tour of the SAP Customer Data Cloud Console

In this video we're going to take a tour of the SAP Customer Data Cloud console.  We’ll start with an overview of the Console. Then we’ll go over some key terms you should know and then we'll take a tour of the Console. The Console is your access point to Customer Data Cloud.  It is the portal through which you manage the configuration of the sites or sites that are integrated with the Console, access a suite of tools that display, query and analyze user database and perform data transfer and imports. The console provides a general framework for setting up and enforcing users and application-level permissions. You will need a console account to build and manage deployments. Let's go over some key terms. The partner ID is your official account number.  You'll need this when communicating your account manager or your implementation consultant.  The secret key is shared between your sites and your applications and the console.  Anyone who has access to this key may perform actions on your account.  Therefore, it is of crucial importance to protect your secret key.  You can review the security guidelines in our documentation, which you can find by scanning the QR code.  The terms “site” or “API key” are used interchangeably. Any of your sites that integrate should be defined in the Console. That means each site has an API key. Now let’s take a quick tour of the console. By entering the console, on the top of the page you will see the Console Shell Bar. The first icon is the Main Menu Toggle, then the Tenant ID. In the search bar you can search for sites  within the same partner page or switch to another one of your sites with the icon next to it. The Digital Assistant icon offers you two further action buttons: one for Enablement and another for Support. The Enablement button takes you to the openSAP Microlearning page, which has short training videos on SAP Customer Data Cloud and other SAP products.  The Support button takes you to the SAP ONE Support Launchpad to get product support. The Notifications icon opens the Notifications window with alerts, tasks, or requests from the platform. Clicking on the Help icon open the SAP Customer Data Cloud documentation on the help portal. There is also a possibility of Built-In Support from within the system itself, and you can provide feedback about the product under the Give Feedback icon. By clicking on the Main Menu Toggle, you can change the main menu from text to Icons. The first menu point is the Identity access tool, which is for managing customer relationships.  Below the Identity Access tab, you will find the Sites page. You’ll see the Partner ID as well as the secret key in the left corner. On the right side you'll see the API keys that are associated with your account. These are the keys you should use for  each of your applications in your website. I’m going to Site Settings for one of these API keys. Here, you'll see the Site Settings page with the different sections.  In the Menu, you will see several tabs with different action items. The User Interfacing tab provides Screen-Sets and Email Templates that allow you to customize the user touch points with your SAP Customer Data Cloud based services. The Identity section provides the connection and security policies that govern the user's connections to the Customer Data Cloud and your sites. The Orchestrate section consists of Dataflows  and Webhooks, which send customer data  from the SAP Customer Data Cloud to other systems. The Data Privacy tab, while transparent to the user, helps to uphold rigorous standards to support compliance with international privacy regulations.  The Reports section provides information about users: User Identities, The Identity Query Tool and Customer Insights. The Advanced section has the following: Site Groups, Accounts Schema, Certificate Provisioning, Copy Configuration and Web SDK Configuration. If I select the admin menu at the bottom left, it will navigate over to the admin panel. The section includes a Status Page, Audit Log viewer, SMS Provider setup and various Access Management setting options. Lastly, you can check out your user account from the top right menu. Here you'll find general account information as well as your API credentials with the user key and secret key. That was a quick tour of the Console. I hope you found it helpful.
