Testing Reauthorization in Open Payment Framework for SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, in this video we will demonstrate how to test reauthorization. After implementing changes, testing is required. Several methods can be used to test reauthorization. Split an order into multiple consignments for a number of items, capturing them separately during the fulfillment process. Increase the cost of an existing order, which would be an uncommon method. Set the authorization timeout to 0 in OPF, forcing reauthorization on each capture attempt. In the setup for our Stripe checkout in OPF, under General Information of the Integration Details, we can set the authorization timeout days to 0, which will force OPF to reauthorize whenever a payment is captured. To test a reauthorization, we'll place an order and verify the page works as intended. We can see the transaction, and that Stripe has provided a checkout page and the payment is authorized. Back in OPF, we can check the request logs to make sure the new field is being populated correctly. Opening up a checkout session call, under the Request Body tab, we can see the value, Setup for Future Usage, has been transferred. Next, we'll open the transaction view and search for our order. Opening up the transaction, we can see the token field is populated with the payment method. Under Payment Interactions and the Notification Log tab, we can see the corresponding notification. Now it is time to go to SAP Commerce Cloud and fulfill the order. Because the authorization timeout is set to zero, OPF will now immediately attempt to reauthorize. Once again in OPF and the transactions view, we want to search for our authorization. Here we can see that unfortunately the request has failed. So we need to check the request log in the payment interactions view to find the problem. The details of the failed request show that in the response, we are told that to reuse a payment method, it needs to be attached to a customer. Although we could test the reauthorization, the issue remains, and we will resolve it in the next video.
