Translating Fields and Content within SAP Ariba Sourcing Events

Today's video will review how to translate event content and sourcing project fields within SAP Ariba Sourcing. When content has been created in an event manually in a base language, the system does not translate the text automatically so translations are required. To translate something in the system, the logged in user must belong to the system group translator, or the user will not see the translate link to take action. If the user has the correct permissions, the process is relatively simple. Throughout the text fields, the translator will see a translations hyperlink. For example, when adding the name of the event or description, I can see the links off to the right. Once selected, the enabled languages will be present and I am able to enter in the translation for each language manually. I can select OK when finished. To translate event content, it is recommended to wait until all of the event content that needs to be translated is added. Then, after everything is established in the base language, the Actions menu has a Translate option with all of the event content. Translators will want to note the translation language in the drop-down menu and then manually key in the translation. They will want to do this for all terms, requirements, sections, questions, and everything that was manually keyed and deserves translation for participants. Translators can use the save button, which is recommended to select frequently to avoid losing work before selecting done.
