Translating Guided Sourcing Event Content in SAP Ariba

This video will review how to translate event content and sourcing project fields within SAP Ariba Guided Sourcing events. There are two ways to translate business data, translate one field into all languages or translate all fields into a single language. To translate one field into any of the supported languages, select Translations next to the field and enter in the translations manually. It is not required to enter translations for all available languages. Translators will want to remember their audience, the supplier participants, and any internal project members with different locale settings, which changes the visible language. To translate all fields into a language, go to the More Actions points in the top right and select Event Settings and Set Event Translations. This will take the translator to the Languages tab, where the pull-down menu allows translators to choose multiple languages to translate the event content. Pencil icons are visible next to each field, with translatable data created within the event. The first will be the event details, like the event name and description, followed by line items, questions, and any attributes. The save button can be selected without exiting the page, and it is recommended to be used to prevent lost work. After the translations are entered and the event is published and active, localized users with matching languages within their locale settings will see the translated data. If translations are not entered for the text, then they will see plain text within the base language. For additional information about translations, please consult our product documentation.
