Understanding Segmentation Configuration in SAP Marketing Cloud

In this video, you will learn about possible segmentation configurations and tools for analyzing and tracing segmentation steps in SAP marketing Cloud. Let's open the Segmentation Configuration app. Within the app, you can edit segmentation profiles, change the details of the segmentation attributes, view and filter data sources, edit the performance settings and inform yourself about key mapping statuses. In the segmentation profile view. You can see a list of all configured profiles on the left side of the screen. You may also create a new profile when you click on a chosen profile. The details will appear on the right side. You can delete it or set it as the default. Basic data will include information such as the name of the segmentation profile, the description, the segmentation object, the base data source alias, and the time zone. In the attribute visibility area, you can choose which attributes will be available in Segmentation builder. In this section, you can view segmentation objects, their assigned data sources and the corresponding attribute groups. As you can see, for the all consumers object, the contacts and related interactions data source are chosen as the default. Click on the synchronize button if you want to check if there are any inconsistencies between the current configuration and the underlying data sources. Now click on the data source mentioned before. In this data source, you can check the details of the attributes assigned to the data source. Change the attributes position in the UI and set the visibility. Open the details of the city attribute. As you can see on the screen, you can configure preview types as well as gain an overview of the attribute data. In the data sources. View a list of valid sources will be shown. You can use the quick filter tiles for distinguishing between data sources for segmentation objects and data sources for the value help. In the general and performance settings. You can define the use of idle work processes and automated building block count calculations. You can find more detailed information in the SAP Marketing Cloud Administration guide. There are two more tiles that can be used for segmentation configuration. In the first one, you can edit the preview types used in segmentation modeling. The second one informs about the current key mapping status and navigates to the segmentation objects and attributes. View. Let's continue with two more features for segmentation builder skill trace and Debug mode. Open the personal settings and enable those options in the maintenance area. Now by opening the SQL diagnostics window, you can access detailed data for analyzing the segmentation steps. Additionally, the information about the data source and attribute name is visible when you hover over the segment. Thank you for watching.
