Hi, I am John, a maintenance engineer at a manufacturing company and a long-time SAP Cloud ERP user. My company is one of the first to adopt SAP Ariba Buying capabilities. It's my, responsibility, to ensure the equipment operates smoothly. During a routine maintenance check, it was identified that the UPS, a device that provides an uninterruptible power supply, needs replacement. I want to show you how I use SAP Ariba Buying. Let me log into S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, my primary workspace. I have all the necessary items from the launchpad to accomplish my task. I select "create purchase request" to start the process. The capabilities you will see can also be used as a standalone product. My company uses SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, and you will see how seamlessly SAP Ariba Buying and S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition are integrated, including the user experience. Let me start by searching for the "UPS." The search for UPS has resulted in a proposal of three supplier sites I can use to order my UPS. I will select SHI, my company's preferred supplier, to order UPS. SAP Ariba Buying allows me to search for products across the catalogs maintained and managed by suppliers and directly punch out to the supplier's website. Let me search here as well. The first proposal UPS meets my requirements, so I will add it to my shopping cart and proceed to checkout. Click on finish to take over the selection into SAP Ariba Buying since it is connected via APIs to the S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. From here, I could continue shopping from other suppliers. Let's proceed with the checkout. Let me change the title for easier readability in the subsequent process. Then, navigate to the purchase request, as I want to check one last time to ensure it is shipped to the correct address and charged to the right cost center. Everything looks good. I will now submit the Purchase request, which will start its journey by going through an approval process if one is needed and then going through the ordering process. Let's see who the responsible approver for my Purchase request is and whether we need to expedite the process. All is good here; it was already auto-approved and is now in the status "preparing orders." And I can also review the status of the subsequent business documents. Based on the configuration and completeness of the purchase request, an automatic purchase order can be generated. Since my purchase request has been approved, I will check the status of my order. Now it says ordered. It looks good; a purchase order has been created and sent to the supplier. This process was smooth. Now, I'm just waiting for my UPS to arrive so I can get back to my equipment and machinery to ensure they are in good working order. It's been a couple of days now, and I have received the UPS. I confirmed the goods receipt of the UPS, so the invoice reconciliation could happen and the supplier could be paid. This is how it is reflected here in the document flow.
