Using SAP Build in SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

In this video, we're going to take a look how easy it is to extend with Low-Code, No-Code our SAP Sales and Service Cloud. We're going to build an extension on the Business Technology Platform. As a developer, we will use the BuildApps, No-Code, Low-Code platform to build an HTLM5 application that we will embed in the SAP Sales Cloud. The end user, in the end, can access this application and also SAP Sales Cloud by the same identity provider via the SAP Cloud Identity Service. Now, this would be a simple front-end application, but we can also imagine more, like connecting with APIs, this build apps application, to different SAP or external third-party applications, like S/4HANA Cloud or SAP Field Service Management. we're going to see in this video how we build exactly such an extension very easily step by step and also see some examples of more sophisticated applications. So here we are in our Sales and Service Cloud and as an administrator with extensibility rights I have here the application switcher where I can just open SAP Build Apps directly from my Sales and Service Cloud. When I open this up I get a really two build apps where I can create a new application to extend my Sales and Service Cloud. Now, clicking on create, I can choose on different variants of applications. I want to build an application here. And I also want to build a front-end application and not a back-end application. So let's go here and give it a project name. Let's call it account extension, for example, because maybe we want to extend certain things on a business partner on an account. So with that, I just create that. And then my new app is being created. I start with an empty canvas here and you can now change my app. I can give it a headline and you see it's really simple like account extension. And I can just drag and drop my elements here. For example, if I want to have a new field here, let's say here we want to save like a SWOT analysis or describe it here to this customer. Maybe I would like to have a button here. I can drag and drop it here and give it a name like click me, it keeps it really short. And I just want to show how easy it is to click, change things to that then. Now let's also add some business logic here by clicking on this button. We can just say, for example, we want to have a message here and alert. So drag and drop it here. I connect my button with logic node here and just say that worked. Okay, great. So let's close that again. Now I could do many more things. I could integrate this external data here. I could have several pages and have a navigation between them. I could change the theme very easily. There are a lot of capabilities, but I don't want to go to all the capabilities of build apps, but rather show how we can have it integrated in extension scenario. So I just save my app here and I could just launch it now and directly preview my app already live. But in our case, we just want to build it and then deploy it to our Service Cloud. So I will open the build service here and we'll just go on the build here. Here we just fill out some settings. We select an MTAR, the long-term version and also version numbers that we want to build here. Now, it is queued and we need to wait a little bit until it is delivered, and after a short couple of time, we will see that our solution was delivered, and now we can deploy this MTAR to our Cloud Foundry actually. We can select here our business technology platform account here, the right Cloud Foundry, and it will automatically deployed into the HTML5 repository for where the application then can be used. So then it's publicly available, for sure we can secure it with our identity provider, which is also done in that case, and then we can access it. So a lot of work is done for us here, and now we have run it on a cloud platform. So the next step now, we can select a mashup here, because we can directly select a mashup in our Sales and Service Cloud. So with that, we get immediately created a new mashup or updated an existing mashup, which allows us and later to really see this extension nicely embedded in our Sales and Service Cloud. We can also click on it. And then we're going to see here the extension we've built. Yes, it's a very simple one. We can do some data here. We can click a button. We see this message that we did with no code, low code. But it's just a very simple example to see the entire workflow here. Now, we can go to the settings in our Sales and Service Cloud here, where we can go to the Mashup authoring. And there's a magic happening. We will have the account extension directly here. So that was created directly from SAP Build Apps. So it's really fully integrated in our Sales and Service Cloud. We can also do the preview here, where we see already the front end that was deployed to our HTML5 repository. Now let us go and also quickly embed this in the actual application. So we go to the accounts here, where we wanted to build an extension for. And it's account screen. We can change to the adaptation screen, which allows us to change the layout and adapt things as an administrator. And here, we're just going to add a new tab here that we give a name. In our case, we just call it account extension. Let's move the tab a little bit more up to the front and apply so we have created our new tab. Now we have the tab. But in this tab, we would like me to add now the mash up. So we just go add mash up. And here we search for the account extension that we have created. And here you can see there is our extension created with SAP Build Apps. Now we can just add it here, and we immediately see our extension that we built with the No-Code, Low-Code platform that is showing here fully functional and deployed into our SAP Sales and Service Cloud. I would say that was easy. But we can also do more sophisticated things with this No-Code, Low-Code. For that, I brought another example that we want to take a look at together, where we can see you, what you can really make out of it. So for that, we go now to the agent desktop, a certain functionality in our system that helps us to identify a customer if he calls. Here, Jens Limbach is calling. And now here we have different functionalities available that we want to do for Jens. We want to look up some documents, for example. And here you can see the App Hub we created. And these are all no-code low code applications you can see here built with our SAP Build Apps. Let's check out the S/4HANA transaction application. Here we have built an application that actually displays a lot of data coming from an external system, in this case, from our S/4HANA Cloud system. So we can see all kinds of data that is actually an external system but related to this customer Jens Limbach. We can also see the customer returns, we can see outbound deliveries, or any kind of service orders. And all these are directly called by an OData service and displayed here in our frontend. So ultimately, we click on something, we can directly jump to the S/4HANA application and really work with the data if we have the respective user. So you can see, we can really build a powerful, no-code low-code application that is frontend only, no persistency, and is getting all its data actually from external APIs. And that doesn't need to be in S/4HANA. It can be any kind of solution that has respective APIs. Let us look at another example. So we also have examples where we interact more with the data and don't only show it. For example, we have here one where we create a service order in S/4HANA later on. So in this case here, we have a guided procedure that is also developed, always low code, no code. And we can first select the equipment that is coming from S/4HANA. Then we can select certain services we want to offer to a customer that is calling right now, like a repair service. And then we can also enter some data. And again, all this data is not persisted here, But it's just collected in the client here in the front end. And in the moment when we click Save, actually, there will be a new service order created with all the data we put together. And that's persisted in S/4HANA in our ERP solution. And all this data is used then now also to find for this respective service order, for example, the right technician. And the technician that is available would be in our SAP Field Service Management solution. So we connect even a second solution via API here, bring it all together in one single workflow and directly accessible for our service agent here in the SAP Service Cloud. We hope this example gives you really good ideas how you can use our no-code low code platform, SAP Build Apps, to really build powerful extensions for your SAP Sales and Service Cloud.
