Using the Configuration Localization Tool in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 3-System Landscape

Are you considering transitioning from SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 2-System landscape to 3-System landscape? Then let's talk about the Configuration Localization Tool. In the SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2-System Landscape, what happens if you want to create a company code and organizational structure for countries that are not covered by standard SAP Best Practice business processes? Previously, we would refer you to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, which has a higher Total Cost of Ownership and more complexity than SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. We now support these non-standard countries using the Configuration Localization Tool in SAP Central Business Configuration for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 3-System Landscape. Localization is the process of adapting business processes and languages to fit different countries and regions. SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition covers approximately 50+ standard local versions in 30+ languages, with additional versions and languages continuously being added in each release. We differentiate localizations into two main categories: SAP-delivered local versions and customer local versions. SAP delivered local versions refer to our SAP Best Practice business processes, which are already designed to comply with a wide range of local financial reporting standards, legal frameworks, tax calculations, and regulations. Business process documentation is located in the SAP Signavio Process Navigator website. Customer local versions involve using the Configuration Localization Tool in SAP Central Business Configuration to deploy business process content for a country or region which is not supported by SAP Best Practices. With the Configuration Localization Tool in SAP Central Business Configuration, you select Germany as the source country, then choose a target country that is not covered by SAP Best Practices. For example, Albania, Anguilla, Bermuda, or Iceland. The target country inherits the business processes supported by the source country, and you can then build the organizational structure with entities specific to the target country. For customer-specific localizations, the customer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the legal, financial, and other reporting requirements of the target country. Additional extensions may be required to complete the "last mile" of a customer local version. This information is documented in the Localization as a Self-Service for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition Community and the SAP Help Portal. In SAP Central Business Configuration, you use the Configuration Localization Tool in the scope activity. First, choose the Select Countries/Regions button. Next, choose the More Countries/Regions button. Select Germany as the source country. Then select the target country. The target country will inherit the business process content of the source country. Last, select the Create Target Country/Region button to confirm the assignment. When you get to the Organizational Structure activity, you will be able to create a company code and organizational entities for the target country. The full list of target countries are documented in SAP Note 3107866 We hope this information helped you understand some key benefits and features of the Configuration Localization Tool in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 3-System Landscape. Thank you for watching!
