Working with "Display Product Availability" in SAP Cloud ERP – PET 2026

Hello and welcome to a new product expert training video. In this video I will show you how you can work with this big product availability app to analyze availability of products. My name is Ahmed Durmas, I am the product specialist for Available to Promise at SAP. Before we begin, please take note of the usual disclaimer. This video is part of Plan to Fulfill process. In this session, I will recap the value proposition of Available to Promise, explain you the challenges of product availability in context of ATP and we will see how you can use the new feature of Display Product Availability App to address these challenges. Short explanation of Available to Promise for those which are new into this topic. With Available to Promise, you have the possibility to have an accurate and reliable order promise date to customer orders with considering of relevant parameters and supply chain constraints in real-time, while protecting companies, business priorities and profitability goals. With ATP, there are two scope items available. What was the challenge? What is the benefit and innovation about? With this new feature, we will get a modern, theory native app that delivers instant transparency into product availability in an available -to-promise context, designed to support key business roles it currently empowers two personas internal sales representative and shipping specialists for internal sales representative the app provides a clear and reliable view of sellable quantities helping them respond confidently to customer demand while taking existing commitments into account for shipping specialists it offers precise insights into available quantities for specific products, enabling efficient and informed creation of outbound deliveries. In many scenarios, you can use the display product availability as a modern alternative to the GUI -based Fiori app monitoring product availability. The focus is on a streamlined Fiori native user experience while still providing detailed insights into the availability calculation. Let's have a look into the system. To have an overview you can check multiple products in one go. In this example I have selected three products at the same time. In addition you can tailor your plant selection. In this example I have selected three plants as plant is in only an optional field but to maintain a product is mandatory as a sales representative you can see how many quantities are available in different locations you can also filter by availability context and special stock type for availability context we have two options first sales context Next, second, delivery. Special stock type allows you to check availability for different processes. No special stock is foreseen for the make-to-stock scenario, sales document for make-to-order scenarios and customer consignment processes. Another mandatory field is availability date. A standard one, you can either select a single date, today or tomorrow. Once we press the go button, an evaluation of availability is done by plant and storage locations. The first step, we are on a plant level. This means we will have a cross-plant overview of these three products in the selected plants. In the second tab, the storage location, we will have an overview of location level. The quantity shown here is the availability check. The quantities displayed reflect a real-time supply and demand-based availability result, providing fast and reliable transparency. Advanced ATP capabilities, such as product allocation and alternative-based confirmation, are intentionally excluded, ensuring a clear and easy to interpret availability preview for internal sales representatives. This enables confident decision -making early in the sales process and during sales order creation as the next step, the final confirmed ATP quantity may be same or lower. For example, if product allocation reduced the quantity based on the current product allocation situation for the particular product. Quantities are shown in the product's base unit. It is also possible to show the quantity in an alternative unit. This is especially useful when you work with handling units rather than individual pieces. For example, viewing availability in packs or pallets instead of the base unit piece. Depending on your setup, the app can also display additional information such as the carbon footprint. There is one more column called next change in availability. With that you can see when is the next change of availability. In this example, we have currently minus 12 pieces and the situation will change of 15th of May. For collaboration, you have also the option to export the availability results to an XLS file and share it with your colleagues. With the 2602 release, the Display Product Availability App introduces a new Supply Protection icon that instantly highlights whether supply protection is active for a specific product and plant combination. When supply protection is in place, the app transparently reflects this by automatically adjusting the displayed available quantity, showing only the remaining unprotected stock. This ensures users always have a clear and reliable view of what is truly available for fulfillment. In addition to the totals, the app helps you to understand why a quantity is available. Select a plant to drill down into the supply and demand elements that influence the product's availability. With that example, you can see the MRP elements which contribute to supply calculation and demand situation. For instance, 15 quantities are available and minus 27 pieces as demand. This situation leads to an available quantity of minus 12 pieces. To use this screen, it gives you insights to explain confirmation results, see which date quantity is confirmed and what competing demand or receipts drive that outcome. Access the overall availability situation so you can respond consistently to customer requests and align internally with other stakeholders. For example, in case of redistribution of confirmations of more important sales orders, With this app, you can see which current sales orders reserves which quantity and as a follow-up, you could redistribute the quantity promised to current sales orders either via back -autoprocessing or manually. It is also possible to adjust the date range in the Receipts and Requirements table to identify upcoming changes that may impact availability. The default is you can see a couple of days in advance and you can change it for your needs accordingly. To interpret the results correctly, it helps to understand the scope of the availability check used for the product plant combination. The scope of check is derived from the checking group maintained in the material master and the checking rule. Here you can see that is already configured the Checking Group and the Checking Rule. The app determines the Checking Rule based on the availability context you select and if applicable the special stock type. For the availability context we have selected Sales in combination with Checking Group and Material. The system determines the Checking Rule a which stands for sales orders make to stock process default configuration by sap what is also interesting you can see how scope of check is configured you can expand the scope elements for example restricted consignment stock is not activated unrestricted stock is part of the calculation. Block stock is not included. And the same you can do for the requirements. For requirements you can see what is calculated for plant orders, for your purchasing elements and so on. In addition for special scenarios you can see if supply protection is also configured for this product-plant combination. You can also expand result after check horizon to see the check horizon settings from the material master for the selected plant. These settings control whether demands and receipts beyond the check horizon are considered during the ATP check. The setting you see under Result after checking horizon explains how the system treats requirements that lie beyond the horizon. For the full confirmation the requirements after the check horizon are confirmed and start the reserving quantity as soon as they move inside the horizon, zero confirmation means, requirements after the check horizon are not confirmed and remain back-ordered. In case of ignore check horizon, the requirements are confirmed according to available stock and supply elements, regardless of the horizon. These rules help explain why the available quantity can be negative, zero, unlimited or positive. Overall, the shown features in Display Product Availability app provide transparency into the drivers behind product availability. This helps you to explain ATP outcomes, anticipate changes and monitor availability more effectively in day-to-day sales or delivery processes.
