Working with Invoice Expense Types in SAP Concur

Expense types categorize the expenses in a payment request to the accounting system for cost accounting purposes. In particular, the expense type determines what natural account code the accounting system should use for the expense. As an administrator for SAP Concur Invoices, you can work with the list of available expense types. You can create new expense types, modify existing expense types, and remove unused expense types. To perform these functions, you must be assigned the invoice configuration administrator (restricted) role to access invoice expense types. Click Administration. Select Invoice. Select Expense Types. You will see a list of existing expense types. Use the navigation buttons and the scroll bar to browse through the complete list. To create a new expense type, Select New. Enter the name of the new expense type type. Select the Spend Category drop-down arrow. Select the appropriate category. Select Next. Select which policies will use this expense type. Select Next. If the expense type involves attendees, select the appropriate settings for how the form fields will function. For this example, select Done. After you create a new expense type, you will need to assign it to the appropriate account code. To assign an account code, select Accounting Administration. Select the appropriate ledger. Select the appropriate expense type. Enter the appropriate Account Code. Select Save. Select Expense Types. You can also modify existing expense types. Select the expense type you want to modify. Select Modify. You can modify the general policies or attendees fields as needed. For this example, select the Spend Category drop down arrow. Select the new spend category. Select Next. Select Next again. Select Done. To remove an expense type, select the one you want to remove. Select Remove. Select Yes to confirm. The expense type is removed from the list. This concludes the video.
