Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to download an excel file which can be uploaded to S/4HANA.

Follow the step-by-step instructions to complete the exercises.

Note

The S/4 HANA Cloud JUL tenant is a public / shared tenant and the data will continuously change, therefore the data shown in the images will be different to what you will see in the system.

  1. Please begin by opening a Chrome browser and enter the SAP Analytics Cloud URL provided from your Workshop organizers.

Download and modify the general journal entry file

  1. To download the Excel file, right click on Files and select Open App in New Tab and select the Public Folder.

  1. Navigate to the location Files / My Files / Public / S4HANA_Integration_SAC_Planning and click on JE_Office_Supplies.xlsx to download.

  1. Open the file and change the following cells (see marked green cells):
  • Change the Journal Entry Date and Posting Date to 12/31/2024 (or 31/12/2024).
  • In cells D14 and G8 add a reference text to easily identify your posting. For example, use the last 4 digits of your I/D/C# and a sequence #.
  • In cells E14 and F15 enter the amount you want to post. Select an amount between 0 and 200.

Note

Keep the amount small as this impacts the data set. This example uses “80” as the amount.

  1. Save the Excel file to your local system for usage later in the workshop.

Refresh the data

  1. To open the preconfigured Story navigate to Files / My Files / Public / Demo_15320 and click on the Updated_BestRun__S4Planning_Story2.0_V2 story.

Note

For your convenience, the refresh of the data has been configured as a multi-action called
  1. Click Import Actual Data from S/4 (Local Currency) button to refresh the data from the S/4 system.

Note

You may see that the values for FC vs Budget have updated, unless another refresh has recently completed.
