Objective
After completing this lesson, you will be able to create calculated measures in a model.
Create Calculated Measures
In the previous lesson, we explored the types of calculations that are created for import models. In this lesson, you will create a calculated measure in a model.
Remember, calculated measures serve a key role in enhancing the analytical capabilities of your data model. Their main purpose is to create new, custom calculations based on existing data without creating data the model, because the calculation is performed dynamically during analysis or visualization.
Once defined, calculated measures can be reused across multiple stories and visualizations, ensuring consistent logic throughout your reporting.
Create a Calculated Measure in a Model
Business Example: You need to add calculated measures to your SAP Universe model for price and gross margin percentage.
Task Flow: In this practice exercise, you will:

- Preview the calculate measure.
Build a Story with Your SAP Universe Model
Business Example: You need to create a story using the calculated measures for price and gross margin percentage.
Task Flow: In this practice exercise, you will:
- Create a canvas story.
- Configure the story using the SAP Universe model.
