The SAP Build Work Zone header bar serves as a central hub for accessing various user settings and features, providing a streamlined and intuitive interface for users to customize their experience and manage their account settings. It is located above the Site Menu covered in an earlier lesson of this unit. This lesson explores the functionalities available in the header bar, focusing on user privileges, settings, and how to tailor the SAP Build Work Zone environment to meet individual needs.

SAP Build Work Zone accommodates a diverse range of users, including internal and external personas, each with specific access privileges:

Internal Users

• Administrators: Possess comprehensive privileges to add content, create workspaces, manage users, and configure the platform.
• Key Users: Designated to add content, create workspaces, and have more responsibilities than end users.
• End Users: Utilize SAP Build Work Zone for daily tasks, accessing only the workspaces to which they have been invited.

External Users

External users, not employed by the company, can join specific workspaces upon invitation and access external-facing menu items or their user profiles.

Internal users enjoy broader access privileges, including the ability to manage workspaces, search and invite members, and access special areas like the Site Menu admin panel. Both internal and external users can access workspaces with certain restrictions, manage their profiles, and receive notifications and updates.

Configuring your SAP Build Work Zone environment is straightforward and personalized. To access your account settings:

1. Open User Actions Menu: Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the top menu bar to reveal the User Actions menu.
2. Access Settings: Select Settings from the dropdown menu to navigate to your account settings.

Configurable Settings Include:

• Theme or Display Settings: Customize the visual appearance of your workspace for a personalized look and feel.
• Application(s): Set your preferred Applications from catalogs in the 'Applications' screen for quick access.
• Language and Formatting Preferences: Choose from a list of preferred languages, date formats, and time formats to suit your regional preferences.
• Advanced Features: Adjust workspace notification frequency, customize feed filtering, set calendar preferences, configure away alerts, and more to optimize your work environment.

The header bar in SAP Build Work Zone is not just for accessing user settings; it provides quick access to several key features:

Notifications: Stay informed with real-time alerts on updates, invitations, and other relevant activities within SAP Build Work Zone as well as e-mail notifications.

Alternatively, those native notifications can be disabled and replaced with an integration into the central Notification Service. This will be covered in more detail later in the training.

• Search Functionality: Quickly find workspaces, content, and applications using the integrated search feature.
• Mobile App Access: Both internal and external users can leverage the SAP Build Work Zone mobile app for on-the-go access, ensuring productivity is never hampered by location.
