Exploring Performance Troubleshooting

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain the approach to performance troubleshooting in SAP Analytics Cloud using a real-world scenario.

SAP Analytics Cloud Themes

There are four different Horizon themes available in SAP Analytics Cloud. You have SAP Morning Horizon (light theme) and SAP Evening Horizon (dark theme), as well as SAP Horizon High Contrast Light and SAP Horizon High Contrast Dark.

Themes available in SAP Analytics Cloud as described above.

Note

For a short period, you will have access to both the old SAP Belize theme and the new SAP Horizon themes. You can change between them at any time from your user Settings. In this course, you may see a combination of both themes to demonstrate the features and capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud.

What is Troubleshooting?

Troubleshooting is a common problem-solving methodology. It's a way to identify and resolve complex issues not only in IT, but also in other fields and even in our day-to-day lives. Won't the car start? You'll probably check the battery or fuel/charge level before calling a tow truck.

Troubleshooting is simply figuring out why something doesn't work and finding a solution to fix it.

Let's take a closer look at a real-world scenario: troubleshooting a Wi-Fi performance issue.

Summary

When troubleshooting performance, it's important to gather as much information as possible to help us get to the root of the problem. We start by looking at the most common problems users face, their known causes, and any quick-fix solutions.

Once common issues are ruled out, it's important to take a systematic look at the issue. This is especially important when troubleshooting performance. It can be one or a combination of issues causing poor performance, and taking a systematic approach will help you get to the bottom of the issue.
