Discovering Business Content

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain where on the SAP Business Accelerator Hub relevant Business Content for Transformations, e.g. Reference Business Processes can be found.

Overview

In this unit, we will jointly explore where and how you can access Business Content, that you can leverage as part of a business transformation or in your engagement. We will start by taking a look at the Business Accelerator Hub, a publicly available website, that is also well-known for integration-related content. However, there is also a Tab called "Transformation", where you can explore our content per industry, end-to-end process or even on a use-case basis.

Secondly, we will take a closer look at SAP Signavio and its various entry points to content. In this section, we will also provide an outlook on what is currently available as a prototype in SAP Signavio Labspace. If you are curious to learn more about SAP Signavio, stay tuned for the next unit, where the expert Manuel Sänger will explain in more detail, what SAP Signavio is. Last but not least, we will focus on SAP LeanIX, SAP's tool for Enterprise Architecture Management.

SAP Signavio

SAP Signavio Process Explorer

As you have seen in the previous unit already, SAP Signavio is a key player, when it comes to relevant Business Content and Accelerators for Enterprise Architects. Within SAP Signavio, the following two products can serve as entry point:

  • SAP Signavio Process Explorer
  • SAP Signavio Value Accelerator Library

The SAP Signavio Process Explorer is a free of charge offering by SAP Signavio, that can be accessed by every SAP user, regardless of whether they have an SAP Signavio License or not. It provides curated, best-practice business process models and reference content to support organizations in designing, analyzing, and optimizing their business processes.

The SAP Signavio Process Explorer acts as a central hub for exploring SAP's extensive process knowledge-drawn from decades of industry experience and implementation projects. It is particularly useful during system implementation, transformation (e.g., moving to SAP S/4HANA), or business process reengineering efforts, helping organizations move from process insight to action with reduced effort and greater confidence.

SAP Signavio Value Accelerator Library

If you are already using SAP Signavio and want to import reference processes by SAP into your SAP Signavio workspace, SAP Signavio Value Accelerator Library is the place to be:

The Value Accelerator Library provides a rich set of pre-modeled, best-practice business processes that can be directly imported into an organization’s workspace. Designed to accelerate process modeling and standardization, the library offers industry-specific reference processes aligned with SAP's solution architecture. By importing these reference models, organizations can quickly establish a baseline for their own processes, compare them against best practices, and adapt them as needed. This capability supports faster, more consistent process design and serves as a foundation for transformation initiatives such as SAP S/4HANA implementations or business process optimization. And guess what? In order to showcase product innovations and prototypes, SAP Signavio provides the so-called "SAP Signavio Labs Space", which is open to SAP Signavio Customers upon signing the TEA agreement. In here, you can find the Landscape Builder, which is a new gateway to easily access and map the SAP Reference Business Architecture. SAP LeanIX

SAP LeanIX is a global, market-leading Enterprise Architecture solution, enabling organizations to create transparency, visualize, assess, and manage the transition to their target IT architecture. In the next unit, Rene de Daniel will explain in more detail how to navigate and work with SAP LeanIX as an Enterprise Architect. But before that, let's find out where SAP LeanIX offers Reference Content:

The SAP LeanIX Reference Catalog offers a robust, industry-specific library of business capabilities that organizations can import or link to existing fact sheets, enabling greater standardization, improved data quality, and streamlined transformation planning. Organizations can select the industry of interest and import Business Capabilities into their workspace: either automatically generating or updating fact sheets or to link existing fact sheets

The SAP Business Capability Model, which can for example be found in the SAP LeanIX Reference Catalog, follows a three level-hierarchy:

  • Level 1 – Business Domain: These are broad, high-level categories representing major areas of the business.Example: Sourcing and Procurement
  • Level 2 – Business Areas: These are more specific subcategories within each domain, detailing particular functions.Example: Procurement Contract Management
  • Level 3 – Business Capability: These are the most granular elements describing specific business functions.Example: Supplier Negotiation Management

Especially valuable at level 3 of the capability hierarchy, the catalog recommends relevant SAP solutions that appear directly within the Transformations tab when using SAP LeanIX Architecture and Road Map Planning, enabling users to plan and initiate transformation journeys with precision. Backed by continuously updated SAP reference architecture, the catalog helps standardize naming conventions, enrich fact sheet content, and reduce duplication, all while accelerating the path to well-informed, solution-aligned transformation. With optional flexibility and deep integration, it bridges best-practice architecture with actionable planning.
