Email Reminders Configuration
In the Concur Request Business Requirements Overview unit, you learned that CVI has the following requirements:
- Users should receive a reminder if they have an unsubmitted request over seven days old.
- Approvers should receive a reminder if there are requests over two days old in their approval queue.

Working with Email Reminders
Steps
Open the Email Reminders Tool
Select Email Reminders from the Request Admin tools.
Access the Rules Tab
Create the Submission Reminder Rule
Enter Information about the Rule
- Enter *Submission Reminder - 7 Days into the Name field.
- Select Request from the Reminder Type dropdown.
- Select the Next button.
Create the Conditions
- Create two conditions with the following criteria:
- Data Object: Request
- Field: Creation Date
- Operator: Not Within Today -
- Value: 7
- And
- Data Object: Request
- Field: Approval Status
- Operator: Equal
- Value: Not Submitted
- Select the Done button.
Create the Approval Reminder Rule
- Select Overdue Request Approvals.
- Select the Copy button.
Update the Rule Name
- Change the Name to *Overdue Request Approvals - 2 Days.
- Select the Next button.
Update the Conditions
- Change the condition that references the Entry Date to 2.
- Select the Done button.
Navigate to the Email Reminders Tab
Select the Email Reminders tab.
Create the Submission Reminder
Add the Details

- Enter *Submission Reminder - 7 Days into the Name field.
- Select Request from the Reminder Type dropdown.
- Select Yes from the Include Unsubmitted dropdown.
- Select *Submission Reminder - 7 Days from the Reminder Rule dropdown.
- Select Daily from the Frequency dropdown.
- Enter Unsubmitted Requests in the Email Subject field.
- Enter %2%, You have %3% unsubmitted requests that are 7 days old or older. Please review and submit those items as soon as possible. in the Email Message field.
- Scroll down.
Complete the Details
- Select Yes from the Copy To Approver dropdown.
- Select *Global from the Applies To dropdown.
- Select Yes from the Active dropdown.
- Select the Save button.
Create the Approval Reminder
- Select Overdue Request Approvals.
- Select the Copy button.
Update the Details
- Change the Name to *Overdue Request Approvals - 2 Days.
- Select *Overdue Request Approvals - 2 Days from the Reminder Rule dropdown.
- Select Daily from the Frequency dropdown.
- Select the Save button.
Result
You have added CVI's Email Reminders.
