Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to illustrate how to create projects, manage timeboxes, manage teams.

Project and Teams Setup

Illustration of the project and the teams setup using SAP Cloud ALM.

This step includes the following details:

SAP Activate Methodology: An implementation based on SAP Activate Methodology.
Generated templated tasks: A solution-specific roadmap selection, which includes generated templated tasks.
Tasks by phase/deliverables: Tasks organized by phase and deliverables, which include accelerators.
Tasks auto-assigned to roles: Template tasks automatically assigned to roles.
Integration with SAP CBC: An integration with SAP Central Business Configuration activities for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Note

Template Task is an activity that a project member executes. You predefine it in SAP Activate.

Project and Task Management

Project Management contains:

Definition of teams and roles.
Scheduling through timeboxes and releases.
Agile methodology using sprints.
Tag management.

Task Management contains:

Creation and execution of project tasks.
Assignment to scope, teams, roles, assignees, and tags.
Personalized views and mass change.

Note

Project Task is an activity a project member executes. You create it manually.

- Create a new team and add team members.

Create a Project

Business Scenario

You are working for the company Brooks Tools Ltd. As your company plans to implement SAP S/4HANA on premise in a green field approach using SAP Cloud ALM, you are selected to accompany the project in different roles during its different phases.

In your role as Project Lead you are asked to set-up a new SAP Implementation project in SAP Cloud ALM.

Task Flow

In this exercise you will perform the following steps:

Create a new project.
Use SAP Activate Roadmap to create template tasks.
Define the access level.
