Configuring the Job Posting Template Base Information

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to configure the base information for a Job Posting Template.

Job Posting Template Base Information

The first step in creating a job posting template is to select the contingent type. Contingent Types define the rules, settings, and defaults that are available in job posting templates.

They are chosen on the first page of the job posting template setup page, called the Details page. The options available in the Contingent Type dropdown menu depend on what has previously been configured for the organization. The Standard type is a default template created when the SAP Fieldglass tenant has been configured. All others are customized types, configured separately.

After the contingent type has been selected, you would enter the base information. The base information—which is entered in the Details section—determines the specifics of the position it is representing, determining such things as the contingent type, the category of the position, job code, and labor type, among others.

The Qualifications section is also shown, displaying the qualifications required for the position. For each listed qualification, there is a checkbox to select in the qualification is to be mandatory as well as an assessment scale indicating a one to five rating. The Labor Type field as well as the Qualifications section are highlighted.
1Labor Types are clusters of the most common job types that have been determined using industry-wide standards. They impact the availability of associated job postings and templates and can drive the routing of postings to certain suppliers. A labor type is required on a job posting template, but the list of labor types is preconfigured in SAP Fieldglass so they cannot be edited or deleted, and new types cannot be added.
2Qualifications are skills, attributes, or experiences required or desired for specific roles. They help employers define the competencies, duration of experience, and proficiency levels necessary for a job. They are optional on job posting templates, but must be configured before the template can be created. Qualification must be associated with a Qualification Category before they can be used in transactions, so they must be configured as well before creating the job posting template.

The configuration of the Details page of the job posting template determines what information will be required on the Details page of the job posting itself.

Configure the Base Information on a Job Posting Template

WorkingNet Networking, Inc., a global manufacturer of data networking equipment, is building new distribution centers in several countries, while simultaneously implementing new logistics software and processes. The new logistics processes will require WorkingNet's accounting methods to be revised.

To help transition to the new software and the revised accounting methods, Melanie, the manager of the finance department at WorkingNet, needs to procure several accounting clerks for the six-month period in which the software is being configured and implemented.

To accommodate these new positions, a new Job Posting Template must be created.

As the SAP Fieldglass administrator for WorkingNet, you've already created the admin objects required to properly configure this new job posting, including a new contingent type, a worker pay type, a distribution list, and qualifications.

Now you're ready to begin configuring the new template for the Accounting Clerk position, starting with the selection of the contingent type, then moving on to complete the base information.

Summary

Creating a job posting template in SAP Fieldglass begins by selecting the contingent type, followed by defining base detail requirements, such as the category, whether the available AI features will be enabled, qualifications, and any custom fields that might be necessary.

Key Points:

  • Select Contingent Type: Start by selecting the appropriate contingent type, which defines the rules and settings of the job posting template.
  • Enter Base Details: Fill out the base information in the Details section, including the job title, description, category, and AI assistance enablement.
  • Use AI for Description Enhancement: Optionally, enhance the job description using AI to improve clarity and specificity.
  • Define Qualifications: If desired, populate the template with qualifications for the role.
