Managing Category Details

One of the key tasks in category management is maintaining accurate and up-to-date category details. Editing category details in SAP Ariba Category Management is a straightforward process that involves navigating to the category, updating the necessary fields, and saving the changes. ​

In the following simulation, you’ll assume the role of Alex Reed, the Lead Category Manager at ZZZ, Inc. Team members who are assigned the Category Manager role can manage the category profile information from a category to its subcategories, when they are assigned the required permissions to edit data within the respective category profile tool. Since Alex is assigned to a Category Manager role, he can view, edit, and add minor details, such as the description and access permissions. Team members who are assigned the Contract Management Viewer role can only view. ​

Alex has been assigned the task of editing the description of the IT Services category, as well as editing access permissions to only allow team members to be able to view the IT Services category.
