Navigating the Preferred Area in Supplier Profiles

The Preferred detail area of a supplier's profile lets you view and manage their preferred category statuses. These statuses indicate how desirable it is to use a supplier for specific combinations of commodities, regions, and departments.

How you access the Preferred detail area depends on whether your site uses the classic supplier 360° profile or the supplier profile summary for managing suppliers. In the classic supplier 360° profile, you choose the Preferred link in the navigation bar to view the detail area. In the supplier profile summary, you navigate to the detail area by choosing Preferred in the Quick Links panel.

Depending on your permissions, you can do the following things in the Preferred area of the supplier profile:

• View a summary list of all the supplier's preferred category statuses.
• View the details of a preferred category status.
• Request a new or updated preferred category status for the supplier.
• Approve or deny a preferred category request if you’re an approver.
• Remove a preferred category status from the supplier.
