Navigating the Qualifications Area in Supplier Profiles

After completing this lesson, you will be able to navigate the features of the Qualifications area in supplier profiles.

The Qualifications Area

The Qualifications detail area of a supplier's profile allows you to view and manage their qualifications. It displays qualifications based on process projects or legacy supplier qualification and disqualification projects.

Note

This area is only available in sites that include SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance.

By default, the Qualifications area becomes available after a supplier completes registration. If your organization uses process projects to manage supplier qualifications, you can access qualification processes for unregistered suppliers in the Processes area. Additionally, if an administrator activates a specific self-service configuration parameter in your site, the Qualifications area will appear in the profiles of unregistered suppliers.

How you access the Qualifications detail area depends on whether your site uses the classic supplier 360° profile or the supplier profile summary for managing suppliers. In the classic supplier 360° profile, you choose the Qualifications link in the navigation bar to view the detail area. In the supplier profile summary, you navigate to the detail area by selecting the Qualifications panel.

Note

If your site uses the supplier profile summary (NGSM-2959), the Qualifications panel shows the number of qualifications in different statuses, if available. The Qualifications detail area offers in-depth information about the supplier’s qualifications.

The Qualifications Area in Sites That Manage Qualifications Using Process Projects

In this video, you’ll learn about the features of the Qualifications detail area in sites that use process projects to manage supplier qualifications.

If your site switched from using supplier qualification and disqualification projects to process qualification and discontinuation projects, you'll see tabs for both in the Qualifications detail area. The Legacy qualifications tab includes supplier qualification and disqualification projects, while the Process qualifications tab contains process qualifications and discontinuations.

Your organization may also use process projects for miscellaneous lifecycle processes. The Qualifications detail area shows only qualification processes, while the Processes area displays both qualification and miscellaneous processes.

You can do the following in the Qualifications detail area:

  • Start or renew a qualification process.
  • View a summary list of all qualification processes for the supplier. If multiple processes of the same type exist, these processes will be listed alphabetically by category. You can search or filter this list by status, owner, decision-maker, expiration date, and other attributes.
  • Discontinue (disqualify) a qualification process that’s approved or conditionally approved.
  • View details of qualification processes. On the process details page, you can:
    • Review all modular questionnaires in the process qualification. If you’re a recipient of an internal questionnaire, you can complete and submit it.
    • Approve or deny modular questionnaires in the qualification process.
    • Request updates or change the recipient of a questionnaire.
    • Set or change the status of a qualification process if you're the decision-maker.
    • Cancel a qualification process.

If your site previously used qualification and disqualification projects, you can also do the following on the Legacy qualifications tab:

  • View a summary and details of legacy qualifications and disqualifications.
  • Disqualify a legacy qualification, which starts a legacy disqualification project.
  • Requalify a legacy qualification, initiating a new qualification process project.

    Note

    With the process project feature enabled, your site can no longer create new legacy qualification projects. All new project-based qualifications and requalifications use process projects.

In the Qualifications detail area, you'll find qualification processes based on process projects and those created from data imports. You can only view detailed information for processes based on projects since imported processes don't include questionnaires and tasks. You can renew or cancel qualification processes created from projects or data imports.

Note

An administrator can cancel a process using data import. Once canceled, qualification processes no longer appear in the Qualifications detail area.
