Describing the Plug and Gain Approach and Process Landscape Analysis

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to understand the plug and gain approach.

What is the plug and gain approach?

The plug and gain approach provides an accelerated path to business transformation and continuous improvement. It leverages the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite to deliver a predefined starting point for initiatives based on data from SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC), SAP S/4HANA, or SAP Ariba.

With plug and gain, data from SAP Signavio Process Insights can be seamlessly loaded into SAP Signavio Process Intelligence. This makes it possible to conduct deep-dive analyses into process performance and execution patterns. As a result, preparation efforts for transformation and improvement projects are reduced significantly, while enabling faster deployment and supporting continuous process optimization.

What is the Process Landscape Analysis?

The Process Landscape Analysis leverages the plug and gain approach and serves as the central offering for providing a structured overview of processes running in an ERP system. It is built on three main components:

The Process House gives a top-down structure and access to the individual processes. Information from the processes is aggregated at the End-to-End Process level and the company level to provide a consolidated view.

The 107 individual processes represent the core of the analysis. Each process is analyzed regarding process execution, process variants, and, where applicable, transaction code usage. The Best-run Score is used to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of process execution.

The Adherence to Target Processes analysis makes it possible to compare current process execution with defined target variants. This helps monitor compliance, ensure consistency, and support the rollout and maintenance of ERP templates.
