It’s important to have a planning story that performs well. Typically, this means a story that loads quickly and is responsive for users, with a model that handles large amounts of data efficiently.
In the other courses in this learning journey, we looked at the performance analysis tools available in SAP Analytics Cloud, data loading, and scripting optimization as well as story building using the Understand, Plan, and Build approach.
In this course, we build on this knowledge and take a closer look at performance in SAP Analytics Cloud for planning and some of the common performance issues related to planning models and planning stories.
Summary
Before starting this course, it’s important that you complete Exploring Performance in SAP Analytics Cloud and Optimizing Performance in SAP Analytics Cloud Story Design. These two courses cover topics that are related to both planning and business intelligence stories and are important for understanding the lessons in this course.
In these courses, we cover the performance analysis tools such as the Private Version Statistics and Analysis tool, the Data Action Performance Statistics and Analysis tool, and the Performance Insights tool. We also cover best practice and optimization in story design, with topics such as story design for user experience, general data visualization best practice, and data loading optimization settings. If you use advanced stories with scripting, there is a lesson that covers common troubleshooting for scripted stories.
In this course, we focus on planning-specific performance optimization so that after completing the full learning journey, you will be able to create planning stories using performance best practice, use the performance tools to analyze the performance of planning-related objects, as well as troubleshoot common performance issues related to SAP Analytics Cloud planning stories.
