Associating Assets

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to associate assets to a contingent worker in SAP Fieldglass.

Assets

If necessary, hiring managers can associate assets, such as a laptop or security badge, to workers who may need such items to complete their work. This allows visibility into equipment usage and lists the items they will need to collect from workers upon their end date.

Rates and Assets tab of a Worker Details Page, showing the list of rates associated to the worker, but highlighting the list of assets assigned to the worker, including a keyboard & mouse, laptop, identification badge, and monitor.

After a work order is created, assets may need to be associated if the buyer has configured them to be part of the onboarding and activation process. These elements may require review by the buyer or other activation and submission steps, as defined in the workflow.

Associate an Asset to a Worker

Melanie, the manager of the finance department at WorkingNet Networking, Inc., a global manufacturer of data networking equipment, created a job posting to procure an accounting clerk for a six-month period at their Atlanta office. The job posting she created was approved, Gabriel was chosen as the accounting clerk, and a work order was created to procure him.

She needs to assign a laptop and a security badge to Gabriel so he can perform the necessary functions in his role. Follow along as Melanie assigns these assets in SAP Fieldglass.

  • Associate with Workers: Hiring managers can link specific assets to workers who require them.
  • Track Equipment Usage: Enables visibility into equipment use and the items to be collected upon the worker's end date.
  • Align with Onboarding: Assets may be associated with work orders during the onboarding process, as configured by the buyer.
  • Manual Review/Steps: Activation and submission steps, including manual checks, may be required as per the setup defined.
