Viewing and Updating Site Configuration Information

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • View information about your site instance.
  • Update the customer’s IDs for Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google, and Bing webmaster IDs.
  • Refine SEO settings.

Site Information

A variety of global actions can be performed from the Site Configuration page. See information about setting permissions for these important back-end options in the section, Enable Role Based Permission in CSB.

Some of the options that are available on the Site Information page are:

View the Site ID, Site Name, Company Name, and Site URL. See definitions for these fields in the Recruiting guide.

Note

Once the career site is live in Production, it is never advised to make changes to these settings, especially the Site URL. If the Site URL must be changed after go-live, the change should be carried out by Professional Services. The customer should reach out to their SSEM. See additional information in this knowledge base article: https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/public/en/2599060.

  • Click Go next to the Site URL to view the CSB site.
  • Google options
    • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics IDs can be enabled for all career site pages, including those that are administered in the SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting ATS, such as the Job Application, Candidate Profile, Login, and Create an Account pages.
    • Entering a Google Tag Manager ID enables Google Tag Manager for the career site, but it does not manage the tags or perform any analysis or reporting. If the ID is obtained from Google and added in this field, Career Site Builder incorporates the necessary code in the career site for you to use Google Tag Manager.
    • Enabling Use Google Tag Manager in Career Site Wrapper adds Google Tag Manager to all of the pages that use the career site wrapper (for example, the Candidate Profile page). This is the leading practice.
    • When you provide the Google Analytics ID, enabling Use Google Analytics in Career Site Wrapper adds Google Analytics to all the pages that use the career site wrapper (for example, the Candidate Profile page). This is the leading practice.
    • If available, enter your company's webmaster IDs for Google and Bing.
  • The implementation consultant is responsible for delivering site map links when your career site goes live. When the site maps are in place, no additional action is required, unless you change the domain of your career site, such as a brand name change.
  • Candidate Relationship Management is enabled on the Site Information page, and the CRM Customer ID is displayed here.
  • Learn more about metadata in the section Career Site Design Leading Practices.
  • Real Time job sync is enabled on this page, and cannot be disabled.
  • Select the filter field used to create Job Layouts.
  • Enable Job Alerts. See more information in the section, Configure the Job Alert Email Template.

Site Integrations

Access the Site Integrations page from SettingsSite ConfigurationSite Integrations.

This page displays the following:

  • Customer's Company ID
  • The data center where the career site instance is deployed
  • The single sign-on security key

Notice the warning on the page: 'Misconfiguring these fields can cause the integration between your career site and SAP SuccessFactors to break.'

SEO Settings

Search engine optimization (SEO) settings can be refined from SettingsSite ConfigurationSEO Settings.

By default, CSB generates a Top Jobs page that lists links to search results pages based on the most frequently searched terms. This setting can be disabled to have better control over how jobs are presented in your career site.

Other tips:

  • Use "Terms to Demote" to specify terms to display at the end of the result set.
  • Use "Terms to Avoid" to prevent search engines from indexing specific terms. For both, start each new term/phrase in a new line, and don't include the word "job" in your terms.
  • Use "Noindex Top Jobs" to prevent search engines from indexing the auto-generated pages created by the Top Jobs page as well as the Top Jobs page itself. If you enable this setting, make sure to remove any links to the Top Jobs page from your career site's headers and footers to avoid having a blank Top Jobs page that only displays a header, search form, and footer.
  • Use "Noindex Search Pages" to prevent search engines from indexing links to user-generated search pages modified to include inappropriate or undesired words.

View Site Configuration Options

Business Example

You may recall that when a new Recruiting user is provided the role-based permission "Manage Career Site Builder" in Admin Center, they must wait for Recruiter Sync to run (within 24 hours). Optionally, Recruiter Sync can be kicked-off manually. You will view this and other options in Career Site Builder.

Note

Do not change any options on the site configuration pages. And remember that, in your Production environment, access to these options should be restricted to trained admin users from CSBUsersRoles.

Steps

  1. Navigate to CSBSettingsSite ConfigurationSite Integrations. Notice the Execute Now button next to Recruiter Sync. This is where you can run the sync job manually.

  2. Navigate to the Site Information tab under Site Configuration. Scroll through the page. If any of the following options need to be enabled or updated after go-live, the changes are made here.

    1. Google Tag Manager ID

    2. Google Analytics ID

    3. Google Webmaster ID

    4. Bing Webmaster ID

    5. Site Map (Once submitted, site maps only need to be resubmitted if your career site domain name changes. See Sitemap_Submission_Process-CSB.pptx for instructions.)

    6. Use CRM (Enables Candidate Relationship Management.)

  3. Navigate to the SEO Settings tab under Site Configuration and view the options.
