Importing Time Off Structures in Employee Central

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain how to import Time Off structures.

Import of the Time Off Profile

Importing the Time Profile requires two steps.

  1. Import the time profile.

  2. Import the time types that are assigned to the time profile.

Business Example

Upload two time profiles and the time types assigned to one of the two as shown in the following table.

Import the Time Profile

Steps

  1. Download the time profile template. Select Import and Export Data. Enter request data as shown in the following figure.

    The downloaded template is shown in the following figure.

  2. Fill out the template with the external name, default external name, the time recording variant, and the external code as shown in the following figure.

  3. Import the time profile as shown in the following figure.

    Import and Export Data page is displayed. Enter the required fields and select the Import button to import the time profile.

    The following figure shows the uploaded time profile.

Import the Time Types Assigned to the Time Profile

Steps

  1. Download the time profile template. Select Import and Export Data. Enter request data as shown in the following figure to download the template for Time Type Profile-availableTime Types.

  2. Make entries to the template as seen in the following figure.

    Fill in the template with columns for externalCode, timeType, enabledInEss, and favoriteType.
  3. Import the time types that are assigned to the time profile.

    Import the time types assigned to the time profile using the Import Data page, which includes options for file type, generic object.

    The following figure shows the imported time types assigned to the time profile.

Import of the Holiday Calendar

The example holiday calendar in the following table is used to demonstrate the upload process.

Note

All holidays must be configured before this process is performed.

Note

Also, the Holiday Planned Working Time Determination object must be created in Manage Data. Ensure that it includes the Holiday Categories within the Holiday Planned Working Time Specifications section.

Import the Holiday Calendar

Steps

  1. Download the time holiday calendar template. Select Import and Export Data. Enter request data as shown in the following figure.

    Import and Export Data page is displayed Enter the required fields and select the Download button to download the time holiday calendar template.

    The following figure shows the downloaded holiday calendar template.

  2. Make entries to the template as shown in the following figure. Note that the Holiday Planned Working Time Determination object must include the Holiday Categories within the Holiday Planned Working Time Specifications section.

  3. Perform the import by making entries to the Import and Export Data UI as shown in the following figure.

Import of the Work Schedule

If you download the template supplied by import and export data, you have everything you need for importing work schedules.

For work schedules of the model category Simple, use the following columns:

For importing work schedules of the model category Simple, use the columns: externalName, timeRecord, userId, and startingDate.
For importing work schedules of the model category Simple, use the columns: workScheduleCategory, Planned Hours, Start Time, and Duration.

Import of Period Work Schedules

For work schedules of model category Period, use the following columns:

For work schedules of model category Period, use the columns: externalName, shiftClass, plannedHours, and segmentCategory.

For workScheduleDayModels.category you can either use PLANNED_HOURS or DAY_MODEL.

For workScheduleDayModels.category, use PLANNED_HOURS.

If you choose PLANNED_HOURS to determine the working hours, you need to add the columns as shown in the preceding figure.

For workScheduleDayModels.category, use DAY_MODEL.

If you choose DAY_MODEL to determine the working hours, you need to add the columns as shown in the preceding figure.
