Getting started
How to access the AI-powered assistant on SAP Learning site.
Follow these steps to start using AI-powered tools in your learning journey:
- Log in to SAP Learning
- Ensure you have an active SAP Learning Hub subscription.
Note:
Learners with one of the following subscriptions have access to AI-assisted notebooks:
- SAP Learning Hub, customer edition
- SAP Learning Hub, partner edition
- SAP Learning Hub, internal edition
You can check your access in My Learning Subscriptions.
3. Browse our course catalog and choose a course that best suits your interests. If your subscription includes this feature, find the tile “Upskill faster with AI” on the right-hand panel of the page:

4. Select the tile to set up your workspace. You only need to do this once.
5. Click “Enroll” to get instant free access.

6. Once enrolled, select “Access the Notebook”:

Your notebook will open in a new tab, already filled with the course content you selected.

Notebook capabilities and features
A notebook is a dedicated space to organize your SAP course materials and interact with them using AI - ask questions, get summaries, and dive deeper into the content you're studying. After opening a notebook of choice, you can dive deeper into multiple formats:

- Chat with the course content, ask questions in your language of choice and receive precise, cited answers grounded in SAP's trusted learning content.
- Listen to a podcast and hit the “play” button and join interactive Q&A sessions with AI hosts.
- Join a live Q&A and use the “waving hand icon” to engage with the AI hosts.
- Mind maps create a visual overview of the course content.
- Study guides provide a structured summary for focused learning.
- Timelines offer a chronological breakdown of key concepts.
- Briefing documents synthesizes the course into structured overview.
Tip:
Greyed-out formats in the “Studio” panel are ready for use in the section below.
Language and accessibility
How to use the AI learning assistant in your preferred language. The chat function is available in 80+ languages. To change your output language:
- Select “Settings”
- Select “Output Language”
- Choose your preferred language and select “Save”
- Type your questions in the chat bar and answers will automatically be generated in your chosen language.
Note:
Pre-generated output formats (podcast, mind map, study guide etc.) are currently only available in English.
Permissions and license
Is the AI learning assistant available to all SAP employees worldwide?
Yes, all employees are now permitted to use the notebook feature without limitations, following work council approval.
What is included in my current notebook license?
The current license grants viewer rights only. This means you can explore and interact with pre-generated notebooks, but you currently cannot:
- Generate your personalized notebooks
- Add sources to an existing notebook
- Add notes
- Generate output formats (podcasts etc.) by yourself
Can I upload my own content or sources?
- Currently, uploading content or sources is not supported. Notebooks are currently pre-generated from SAP’s trusted learning content to ensure a high-quality and reliable learning experience aligned with the official curriculum.
Can I add additional sources to an existing notebook?
- Adding additional sources to pre-generated notebooks is not supported under the current viewer license.
Can I complete the course using the notebook?
- Interactions within the notebook are not linked to learning progress or completion tracking.
Known issues
What happens when I click “Add note”?
When clicking on ‘Add note’, the following error message may appear: [NotEffects] Unable to create a new note. Refreshing the notebook will stop the error from continuing to appear.

Unable to access the notebook
If you experience issues accessing the notebook, please follow the steps:
- Refresh the page to dismiss the error
- Make sure you're accessing the notebook through SAP Learning site — avoid opening direct links shared by others
- Try opening AI learning assistant in an incognito window
- If the issue persists, create a case
