Exploring Hybrid Modeling with SAP BW/4HANA

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to Generate a Calculation View from SAP BW/4HANA.

Hybrid Modeling

Data models created in SAP BW/4HANA can be combined with the data models created in SAP HANA. Mixing the data models means we can combine the features of both modeling environment to develop super-models.

The data model in SAP BW/4HANA is the CompositeProvider. The data model in SAP HANA is the calculation view. You use either existing calculation views or even generate calculation views from the data models in SAP BW/4HANA.

Launch the video to learn about hybrid modeling, also known as mixed modeling.

So how can we generate calculation views from SAP BW/4HANA data models? You simply set the property External SAP HANA View. Watch the following demonstration video and learn how to create an external (i. e. SAP HANA based) calculation view with data from existing SAP BW/4HANA objects.

The generated calculation views can be consumed directly in other calculation views or in reporting tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud.
