Main Stakeholders and Their Roles

As Dreams without Limits wants to implement the Hire to Retire process with the help of their implementation partner Implement HXM!, two teams must collaborate: the partner implementation team and the customer implementation team.

Let's have a first look at the main stakeholders in Dreams without Limits, Implement HXM!, and the SAP Customer Success organization.

In this example, the customer implementation team from Dreams without Limits has the following members:

  • As HR IT Project Manager, Paula Project is accountable for all customer tasks. Her job is to monitor the timeline, costs, resources, risks and issues, to define the scope and to address project constraints.

    Hint

    In her previous job, she has worked as an HR consultant. Before she joined Dreams without Limits, she also successfully implemented a third-party cloud HR deployment in a midsized company.

  • As HR Process Owner, Peter Process represents the HR business side. He provides business processes and requirements. He needs to work with Alexander Architect to develop a conceptual design of the To-Be Hire to Retire process and the system configuration by using best practices for the solution.

    Hint

    At Dreams without Limits, Peter has more than 10-year experience with a deep understanding of all HR processes. In his position, he is used to driving the collaboration between the single business units. Peter is looking forward to designing the end-to-end Hire to Retire process to improve the business effectiveness at Dreams without Limits.

  • As Release Manager, Reginald Release is accountable for the scheduling, planning and controlling of the go-live and the delivery process. To safeguard the single releases, he needs to work together with Tess Ter.

    Hint

    Reginald holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. As he has worked as Release Manager for other software products at Dreams without Limits before, he has a solid understanding of software development lifecycles and release management processes.

  • As Deployment Manager, Dave Deploy is responsible for the deployment of changes and the follow-up on deployment issues and errors. For this, he needs to work together with Reginald Release.

    Hint

    Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. As he has worked as Deployment Manager for other software products at Dreams without Limits before, he possesses several years of varied IT-related experience, including successful IT implementation experience.

  • As HR Analyst, Anna Lyze analyzes needs and writes technical specifications. Her task is to ensure that the final configuration is meeting the day-to-day process at Dreams without Limits. For this, she needs to work together with both Carl Consultant and Peter Process. Anna contributes to the complete project lifecycle (analysis, configuration, testing, deployment, and support), recommends solutions and drives optimization.

    It is planned that, after the go-live, Anna will also wear the hat of the system administrator for the company’s SAP SuccessFactors implementation.

    Before she joined Dreams without Limits, she received a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

  • As Tester, Tess Ter is accountable for managing testing and defect resolution plans as communicated by the project team. She accompanies both implementation and operation from a quality assurance perspective. Her job is also to develop user guides. As every release must be tested, she works closely with Reginald Release.

    Hint

    In her daily work for Dreams without Limits, Tess became an experienced Quality Assurance Consultant. She gained extensive knowledge and experience in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from initiation and definition to go-live and support.

  • As HR IT Support Engineer, Scott Look assists with all technical tasks such as interfaces, access, or the installation of certificates. After go-live, he will also act as technical process owner of the Hire to Retire business process. For this, he needs to work together with Peter Process who acts as business process owner.

    Hint

    Parallel to his work in the implementation team, at Dreams without Limits, Scott is responsible for technical support, including reviewing system configurations, and installing software components. Scott also provides expert level troubleshooting and problem resolution for all software that Dreams without Limits runs.

The partner implementation team from Implement HXM! has the following members:

  • As SAP SuccessFactors Solution Architect, Alexander Architect will work together with Peter Process to design and deploy the Hire to Retire solution.

    His task at Implement HXM! is to guide the customer. Based on his recommendations, Carl Consultant and Joana Junior will implement the Hire to Retire process at Dreams without Limits.

    Hint

    Besides of a certification as a software architect, Alexander is professionally certified in some SAP SuccessFactors modules. He has experience in collaborating across teams to solve complex design issues, avoid technical debt, drive agile practices, and implement best practices.

  • As SAP SuccessFactors Senior Consultant, Carl Consultant leads all the workshops. Together with Anna Lyze, he works on the configuration of the Hire to Retire process.

    Hint

    In his role for Implement HXM!, Carl is responsible for the configuration of the cloud solution based on customer requirements, best practices, and the guidance from Alexander Architect. He also guides junior consultants such as Joana Junior. Carl is a professionally certified consultant and has passed the SAP certification trainings THR80 (Introduction to SAP SuccessFactors Academy) and THR81 (SAP Success Factors Employee Central Core Academy).

  • As SAP SuccessFactors Junior Consultant, Joana Junior assists Carl Consultant. She also works together with the IT stakeholders from Dreams without Limits to understand their business requirements and to contribute to the design and implementation of the Hire to Retire solution. In particular, she works together with Tess Ter to provide documentation and support.

    Hint

    Before she started her career at Implement HXM!, she received a bachelor degree in Human Resource Management.

From SAP's Customer Success team, Susan Success and Delia Delivery interact with both Dreams without Limits and Implement HXM!:

  • Dreams without Limits is thinking about signing an SAP Preferred Success contract.

    As Customer Success Partner, Susan Success engages throughout the customer lifecycle to deliver business outcomes by driving adoption and customer success with SAP solutions.

    She is an SAP employee and presents product information and addresses customer issues.

  • As Dreams without Limits has subscribed to SAP Cloud solutions, they want to use those SAP services that support their production systems.

    Delia Delivery acts as Service Delivery Consultant at SAP. She provides technology support on a remote basis to SAP cloud customers. This may include, for example, the delivery of the analyses and the documentation of issues and actions.

The Business Scenario Used in This Learning Journey

In this learning journey, we accompany Paula Project, an HR IT Project Manager at Dreams without Limits Ltd. Dreams without Limits is a new SAP customer that wants to implement the Hire to Retire process. To do this, they seek the help of the Implement HXM! implementation partner.

Note

This learning journey focuses on the capabilities of SAP Cloud ALM. The Hire to Retire process serves as an example. It is not discussed in detail.
