Suppose an organization needs to exchange sustainability data to accurately track, calculate, and share product carbon footprints across the value chain.
SAP Sustainability Data Exchange enables you to replicate sustainability data to and from SAP Sustainability Footprint Management. By connecting your SAP Sustainability Data Exchange to your SAP Sustainability Footprint Management system, you can do the following:
- Automatically forward relevant sustainability data received from your suppliers to the calculator.
- Retrieve calculated sustainability data into SAP Sustainability Data Exchange for sharing with your business partners.
To set up technical integration between SAP Sustainability Data Exchange and SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, you need to complete the following two steps:
- Create the destinations in the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Enable the integration in SAP Sustainability Data Exchange.
Note
A destination is used to store relevant information (including credentials) about an external system that enables SAP Sustainability Data Exchange to interact with that external system.
Prerequisites
The following are prerequisites required to integrate SAP Sustainability Data Exchange with SAP Sustainability Footprint Management.
Ensure the user has relevant subaccount administrator roles in SAP BTP for both SAP Sustainability Exchange and SAP Sustainability Footprint management subaccounts.
- To create destinations in SAP BTP, you need ‘Destination Administrator’ and ‘Destination Configuration Administrator’ roles.
- To enable the integrations, you need ‘Integration Administrator’ roles.
