SAP Joule for Consultants is offered through a simple and predictable commercial model, ideal for services-based teams using AI to improve SAP project delivery.
AI Units
AI Units are SAP’s virtual currency for all SAP Business AI solutions. Customers purchase AI Units through their SAP Account Representative and then allocate them to specific AI services—such as SAP Joule for Consultants—based on their business needs.
Each service has a defined consumption rate. For SAP Joule for Consultants, the consumption is tied to a per-user-per-month package, priced at:
- 35 AI Units per user per month.
- This includes 22,900 requests per user per month, designed to cover at least 80% of normal business usage .
This model ensures cost predictability while supporting scalable and flexible user allocation as project needs evolve.
Requests
A request is any interaction made to a large language model (LLM), internal or external—this includes any prompt-and-response pair when other metrics like "Record" or "User" don’t apply.
Note
For Joule for Consultants, each question asked and answered typically counts as nine requests.
Requests are aggregated across all users. If some users exceed their monthly limit while others remain under, this is balanced at the customer level—minimizing the risk of overages.
In case of overages, 2 AI Units per additional 1,000 requests are charged.
Activation and User Assignment
After purchasing AI Units, customers can activate SAP Joule for Consultants in SAP for Me, assign named users via SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS), and configure entitlements in their SAP BTP Global Account.
