Fit-to-Standard Workshops Roadmap Viewer

The Fit-to-Standard Analysis workshops are an essential part of ensuring that the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system meets the customer's needs. In these workshops, the partner line of business (LoB) configuration experts demonstrate the SAP standard business processes that the customer's executive sponsors have selected through the Digital Discovery Assessment. These demonstrations are presented to customer LoB experts who are responsible for the job tasks covered by each business process.

"Fit-to-Standard" refers to teaching the customer LoB experts how the standard business processes documented in the SAP Signavio Process Navigator function within the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system. The customer LoB experts are best positioned to identify minor adjustments that may be necessary to make the system work for their particular requirements. We are not rebuilding entire business processes here; rather, we are making small changes to tailor the standard processes to meet the customer's needs.

It is important to remind the customer LoB experts that any change to a standard process will create additional maintenance work for the organization during future release upgrades. Therefore, we are only considering critical requirements that are absolutely necessary for the customer LoB experts to accomplish their job tasks in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition after the go-live phase.

In order to assist with the Fit-to-Standard workshops, you can find the Business Driven Configuration (BDC) template in the roadmap viewer. Its purpose is to guide discussions and document results. It is advisable to tailor this asset to the specific needs of the project, as some questions may not be applicable to the implementation scope. The BDC is part of the roadmap viewer’s Prepare Phase.

Another valuable asset to consider while implementing the solution is the Quality Gate Template (QGT). This checklist helps the project team adhere to project management standards and demonstrate compliance with mandatory deliverables, ensuring best practices are applied throughout the project. The QGT is available in the roadmap viewer as the final task in each project phase.
